Can't say about a Garmin, but:

For those who believe a GPS will be hard to operate, fear not. My wife is a lovely talented women, she is truly a gourmet cook, does canvas paintings like the Old Masters, Rosemaling, quilting, stained glass windows, etc, etc. Believe me the list could go on for awhile. However, we joke about her mechanical aptitude, and all electronics operate by magic as far as she is concerned. Even making a call on as basic cell phone is not without challenges. She refuses to even turn a computer on. BUT, she LOVES the TomTom, and taught herself how to use it very quickly. She even discovered how to use it to locate campgrounds, and once when we were miles from anywhere she located the nearest gas station. She now says we are not taking any more trips without the GPS. I like it also, as I always know how far ahead the next turn is. The bottom line? A GPS is a great gadget for traveling. Even old dogs can learn new tricks.

UH a college degree in programing....LOL It takes a little bit to get to know how to use but they are user friendly. Read the manual or you can go to the website for Garmin for more information. Alot of people have them and I think once you fiqure how to use it you'll like it.

don't be afraid to push all the buttons and put it in the car and try to go to town and back a few times, not hard at all if you try. my dad hasn't mastered it but he won't try. i had a little trouble at first but used it back and forth to work a few times, now no problems. if you know a 6 year old, they can help you out with it.

When I got my first garmin, without even using the instruction, plugged it in and found my house within 2 minutes. Then followed the route to get me home. (I already knew where I was) It was pretty cool though. Once home then I read the book and played with it some. Very simple to use, and they get better and cheaper by the month.

Incredible device and I would never be without one now. Wife named it Beula.

Just another toy. Not as accurate as I would like. Don't through out your maps.

Traveling extensively, I consider mine a tool, not a toy. Makes me a local where ever I go. It's about as accurate as any road atlas I've used and far more detailed. Not to mention that I always know where I am. These old eyes appreciate not having to try to read a map by a dome light.

Wish some of the POIs could be more accurate. But, that's a minor annoyance relative to the features, advantages, and benefits of my Garmin. Between that and a laptop with an air card, I've chunked my maps and Trailer Life directory. And you know? Since then, I've always made it to my destination and found a place to camp. I think you'll enjoy one too.
