One line caught my eye 'Ford is in discussions with RV manufacturers' about a camping version.
Thoughts?

The good thing about the Ford Transit Connect is that it has a big brother that might also come to the USA, the Ford Transit Van. Ford Transit Van Diesel Also has an efficient 4 cylinder diesel engine option. Ideal for a nice Class B.

And look here for a terrific Class B chassis that Fiat/Chrysler might be interested into bringing us here in the USA! Iveco Diesel Hi-Top vans

Interestingly I was in Alexandria, VA the day Ford had its big roll out of the Transit Connect. It was kind of strange seeing various configurations running all over Old Town. I couldn't figure out what was going on until I walk by a warehouse where they were showing them off to the media and several were parked on a closed off side street.

I'm not sure how the Transit Connect would be big enough for an RV. The bed behind the front seats is not quite 6 feet long. It could possibly be made into a personal one person RV if the front passenger seat was removed or could fold down as part of a bed.

I saw a truckload of these (presumably) on their way to a dealer when I got onto I-95 this morning. I like the way they look and will seriously consider buying one as my next daily driver...if it can fit into my garage. It's got good cargo space, gets decent mileage and seems to be fairly priced. I just can't see it being very useful as an RV.

I drove a few of these when I was working at the local Ford dealership. I gave it a good look, from a B owner's point of view, and figured it would be much too small for a camper. It would probably work to throw an air mattress in the back and sleep in there on occasion (if you're short) but it's too small and not tall enough inside to make a good B.

Some one said it would have to have a attached tent to extend the living area ,like a truktent or what GM Aztec used.

There are two European camper conversion for the TC on YouTube. Sorry I don't have links. You'll need to dig around. They both have folding beds.

My 'CLICK TO ENLARGE' feature doesn't seem to be working, it's still too small to be converted into an RV......IMHO naturally...

I'd say my B- in my Sienna is roomier... The Transit provides a higher roof, but you still can't stand.

I could be wrong, but I bet my Toyota drives better. Now... no one is allowed to mention the price variation.
