Blew left rear tire on I-5 on Sunday. The steel belts made short work
of the sewer hose but also did damage to the rear housing that supports the rear compartment. The door can still lock.

Can take the unit to a Ford dealer for the housing repair.

Any other suggestions.

Thanks

I can't give you any ideas but would like to know what brand of tire you had on. I also have a PW.

Call Phil Nikkel at PW for a PW dealer closest to you. Your tire was probably a Hankook. Call the main office for Hankook in New Jersey and not the one in Rancho Cucamonga because they're worthless and will not help you. Without my going into detail, trust me, this is the best approach. Maybe you can file a claim through Hankook for damages to the vehicle also.

I don't know about Palm Springs but in Indio I know of two RV repair shops. One is Benlo RV and the other is Sunbird RV. Their numbers will be in the 'phone book. Hope you get things patched up.

Went to the RV dealer that was recommmended by PW..They only service
what they sell. (They could fit me in sometime next year)

Because of Thanksgiving - shops are closed.

The tire that blew - I believe was a Hankook- there was nothing left
- shredded - . Tire would have had about 40,000 miles -

Replaced all four with Cooper Discoverer HT - The ride is great
with no problems in handling so far.

We also had a blowout of the left rear tire on our PW. It was a Hankook OEM with less than 30K miles. However, we were lucky and it did not disintegrate like yours did. I hope you have been able to get the needed repairs done and aren't stuck someplace you don't want to be. Please let us know how you made out, I don't remember a post where emergency repairs were needed to Class B.

Sounds as if these units might be a bit heavy on the left rear? This is all good information for if I ever buy one. This is such a great forum for the "knowledge is power" type of stuff!

These RV's are carefully engineered by Pleasure Way. I would be surprised if the left rear is overloaded. Not so sure about the useful life of the Hankook tires supplied with our 2006 model. I have since replaced mine with Michelin XPS ribs and saw a big improvement in ride and handling. Hope Dandie Dinmont is back on the road.
