If you have Mission Tires or another brand tire from Tireco, do not expect a quick and favorable settlement in the event of a tire failure. My first failure was quickly replaced. However, with the next two failures and damage to the 5th wheel has been "reviewed" for three months. The first rejection came after they lost the failed tires. After locating the tires, they are still reviewing the claim.

My suggestion is to remove any Mission tires from your 5th wheel, and not replace them with another China made tire marketed by Tireco. I have installed Goodyear G's. The G's have hade their problems, but according to other blogs, Goodyear has been very responsive in settling claims.

I've had all 5 Mission tires replaced by Tireco at one time. They sent me 5 new Freestar tires, free of charge, which may be slightly better. But.... I don't have allot of confidence in them. I just don't understand why the company (Mission brand and their US Distributor Tireco) is still in business. Mission branded tires are nothing but a problem.

I don't believe Mission is in business anymore, which is why Tireco sends Freestars as replacement. Our Dealer warrantied one for us 2 years ago because of damage in transport, and he was told by Keystone they are gone, and they didn't want the expense to ship one from parts so I got a cash voucher to replace with what I wanted (I just put the spare on).

Couldn't take that uneasy feeling anymore either, and installed the Goodyear G614s this last spring, even though the Mission's hadn't worn out yet. I figured if I didn't replace them while home, I would end up with a less desireable replacement set on the road if there was trouble (like with my last rig).

The Mission tire brand has just been discontinued. They have been replaced by the Freestar brand tire. Both made by the same Chinese company. Thew company is listed on the Tireco web site. I accepted the Freestars as replacements reluctantly because I coulodn't beleive that a company who had had so much trouble with the Mission brand tires woud send replacements that were nor reliable either. But... I've heard of RV'ers with Freestar tire failures. But not as often as the Missions.

I had about 8000 miles on my Mission tires without any issues but did not want to take a chance. Replaced with BF Goodrich Commercial TA's with metal valve stems.

I too have the mission, so far no problems, but probably on borrowed time. I have the 3400 Montana, and all the failures I have read about here on this forum about the G614's I am going to a 17.5 wheel with a H rated tire . For another 800-1000 for the rims I think it will put this tire issue to bed. I have read where more and more are going this route. I don't know how many times I have read where all they are thinking about is if a tire is going to blow, and to be honest after reading about all the failures I am the same way. This rv'ing is supposed to be fun not white knuckle driving all the time worrying about tires blowing up. Hopefully as time goes by with guys like me going to the 17.5 we will have good things to report. So far I have not heard anything about 16" tires that makes me thing they are going to work for the bigger 5vers too many failures with the G rated tire.

I hear you on the Gs, I just didn't want to pop all the way for wheels and tire change. If I have any trouble with the G614 I may change up to the 17.5. Keep us posted how that all works out on the 3400 with the change - things like clearance, wheel offset, lug nut replacement, etc.. Just curious.

We've had 2 tires replaced by Tireco at different times and though the mailing of a check was somewhat slow, the people I dealt with were quite pleasant and responsive. In both cases, they had UPS pick up the defective tires and reimbursed us for the full cost of new tires. However, I've now replace the other 2 at our expense, rather than risk a blowout and damage to the RV.

Hi Mile High,
If you switch from the 16" tire to the 17.5" tire like I did last year you will have no more worries about tire troubles.

The 17.5 tire is the same width as the 16" tire and it's actually 1/4" in outside diameter smaller than the 16" tire, I know that's hard to believe but it's true.

Any noticeable difference in ride?
