The cell phone is the easy part. Get one with a national plan and go. Verizon at one point had more remote signals but Verizon states that depends on WHICH cell phone you buy. Some are always looking for the best signal and others tend to lock in on the home carrier network of towers. I did not as her for more details on this.

Since you have a home to go back to then a lot of things will not change for you I would think like drivers license.

Every one of those items has been addressed in many posts. Please search for them and read them before asking folks to say what has already been said...many times.

thanks

- Insurance

definitely buy some.

- Income Taxes

Definitely pay it.

- Drivers Licenses

Yes, keep a drivers license.

- Mail

Have it forwarded to wherever you are.

- Internet

Use a cell phone or the park you're in.

- Phones (anyone tried magic jack)

Use a cell phone.

- Cell Phones

Verizon.

- Cable TV

You should not watch TV, so cable is pointless.

Pleased to help,

Skylos

A little more information needed - Will you be retired or still working?
Do you have good health insurance now?
Some companies require returning to the
home state after 6 months which should
work well with your plans.

You'll have to get fulltimers insurance for your RV. We have Foremost and are happy with it. Most people seem to like the other companies too.

We have an air card for internet - AT&T - $60.00 + taxes a month. Check the different carriers to find the ones that is best for the areas where you'll be spending the most time. If you be staying put for months at a time you can skip the air card and just stay at a campground with WiFi.

It is a little scary to change your life like this but remember it doesn't have to be permanent. If you don't like it you can always rent or buy again.

Insurance - Shop around for the best rate. Gilbert Insurance is a good place to start. 1-888 RV-INSURE

Income Taxes - You'll need a home state so you can file. See MAIL.

Drivers Licenses - You'll need a home state to get one. See MAIL.

Mail - Use a mail forwarding service. Several states have good ones, we use My RV Mail in Florida. Very nice staff and great service. Serves as you physical address so you can get tags, licenses, etc. Tell them RV Road Trip sent you.

Internet - We have 2 laptops and just use Wi-Fi hot spots. You can also get an air card from a cell carrier or use satellite internet.

Phones - House phone? Haven't had one in YEARS!

Cell Phones - Straight Talk sold by Wal-Mart or online. Uses Verizon network and rates are CHEAP.

Cable TV - DirecTV. Does your family have an account already? Get a box on their account for $6 per month. If not, sign up for your own account or use over the air HD in certain areas.

I'll second the recommendation on Escapees. The company was founded by people who were fulltimers - so you could say it is part of the corporate soul.

Also read the blogs of different people, that will give you a good sense of how people travel, what they use, etc.
