Does anyone have a long term report on the Costco 6V batteries? It's time to dump the 12V stockers. My local Costco has them for $75.

There are not that many OEM battery makers left - especially 6 vdc. Shop for price & wsrranty - take good care of them and they will last unless you cycle them to much or push the limits.

At a RV rally two years ago, one of the siminars delt with batteries. The guest speaker said there were only two battery manufacturers, but they make batteries based on what the distributor specifies. If you stay with a name brand, you won't have a problem. He liked Interstate, Costco, Sam's (Wal-Mart), and several others I can't remember.

Funny this topic should show up now; I just purchased two of them and have yet to put them in!!!

I have done some research, and the concenus is that if you keep an eye on the water level, don't discharge them too deeply, they last for years.

For the $75 I paid for each, I just couldn't justify spending twice that (or more!) for a Trojan T-105.

Costco batts. are made by Johnson Controls (who also makes Interstate and US Battery, I beleive).

Can't wait to try them out!!!

I have six of them that are about tow years old and so far they have worked fine....They are made by Johnson Controls which makes many brands including Optima......The best way to make them last is keep them charged to the right voltage....14.8v while charging and 13.4v at float....keep enough water in them.....equalize every 30 to 60 days, and don't let them go below 50% state of charge. The right charger makes a very big difference in battery life. If you have the time please read this . It is quite long but you will get a real education on the proper care of batteries....Hope this helps....

I've yet to see these 6V batteries in the Costco's I frequent in the SF bay area. Are they with the regular 12V batteries? Are they special order?

They are right with the 12 volters in the tire department.
Not all Costcos carry them. They are not special order.
Swing down through Orange County and you have a bunch to choose from.
Or get the item number and they should find the nearest store.

Just got 2 from the CostCo over by Glendora off the 210, the one in Azusa didn't carry them. $75 is what I paid too.
