Well we picked up our new 2010 Roo 21SS today, and it is beautiful, love the aluminum wheels. The Explorer w/ v6 pulled it just fine,in fact it pulled it better than our old 19ft Roo,maybe because I didnt use a WDH until today.cant wait to take out on its maiden voyage in two weeks.I would like to post a pic in my sig. but it wont let me,I dont know why,I sized it correctly. One thing,do you use the braces for the slide-out while towing,it seems that over time it may do damage to the foam seal, thanks

Yes, use the slide locks. You should have some information somewhere in all the paperwork you got that will tell you how to install them. We never pull out of the driveway without them.

Congratulations! Glad it's what you wanted and I know you'll love camp'n in it! You can contact the Hybrid Moderator LAdams and he will be able to resize your pic or direct you how to do so. Instructions are up above in the the blue bar "RVing FAQ" section.

The slideout braces help keep the slideout sealed tightly to the RV to prevent the intrusion of water and dirt while on the road, and secondarily keep the slide-out from deploying while being towed (unlikely!). Good luck!

Congrats....We were told during our PDI that there was no need to use the slidelocks. According to our service tech...They sell several different manufacturers with slides including other Forest Rivers and the ROO's are the only ones that have the slidelocks. He saw nothing different on the ROO's that warrented the locks.

Not a Roo, but we always use the slide locks; our owners manual says they're needed in order to make sure the seals are tight between slideout and trailer body.

Oh, and - congrats on the new Roo!

Congrats on the new HTT, you'll love it!

Necessity is the mother of invention.

That being said, RV manufacturers started to provide slide locks because of problems and warranty claims that arose when the slide locks were not there. You have a screw jack holding the lower section of the slide in place, there is no such animal on the top of the slide, over time, if not using a slide lock you will notice the top of the slide will start to lean out very slightly, this can cause a breach in the seal and can worsen over time.

The lock is supplied for a reason and is worth using. Simply ensure you remove them before pushing your slide out button.

Cheers

Congratulations and welcome to your new Roo. Be nice to see those pictures when you can get them posted.

YES YES use the slide locks. And keep the bright orange tags on them to remind you or use another reliable reminder such as on the slideout button. And keep the instructions and all the other papers in one file along with copies of all the warranties you activated online or by mail. Don't forget that seal conditioner or 303.
