Did you also prime the pump? I have to prime my Shurflo.

Open the valve between the fresh water tank and the pump. There should also be an in-line T that has another valve going to a clear hose, possibly. I have to open the valve to this clear line, use my mouth to draw water up out of the fresh water tank until I see it start to fill this clear tube. I then hold my breath and shut the valve on the clear tubing. This will help get the pump primed. I then turn on the switch to the pump and let it pressurize.

I wouldn't even open up the faucet until I know the pump can build pressure. Then I bleed the air out of lines and know I'm good to go.

You shouldn't have to prime these pumps, they are self priming. If you need to, you have a problem. On my last 3 trailers with Shurflo water pumps, none ever needed priming. They advertise self priming. If you had a problem, I believe either your pump is very old or it's simply not working correctly.

Good luck and have a good one.
