My wife Chris and I are about to embark on a new lifestyle, which is that of full time RV'ers. This is something we have been planning for a couple of years now and it's finally coming to fruition. I have started my own web site to chronicle our adventures and everyone who wants to is more than welcome to visit and follow us as we travel. You can also post your comments there too. It's going to be quite the change for us, but a welcome one. No more winters in Michigan after next year.

We have been fulltimers for 3 1/2 years. We didn't retire, just quit our stressful jobs and sold our house. It's been mostly great. Things in our life happened that we would have missed had we still been working. The first year my daughter had triplets and I was able to help her the first 8 months. The second year the DH's sister passed away from cancer at only 47. We spent that summer with her family. We met people that have become good friends and enjoyed the time with each other. We have seen more of this great country's sights than we ever had a chance to do while working and taking those short 2 week vacations. We discovered workamping and really like it. This winter we are parked oceanfront in Ventura County, CA, yay. I've seen other people give advice to newbies, the best is slow down, don't try to see everything in the first year. Get off the interstate and travel the 2 lane highways, you see soooo much more. Why aren't you leaving MI this winter??? Happy travels to you.

This first year we are going to be using the freeways only because of time constraints as we have to be a couple of places at certain times. After our plan has always been to travel those "roads less traveled" as you just can not see that much of an area in a super highway. We are sticking around Michigan right now as we still have things to dispose of in our house and I have some important Masonic things I have to attend in December. Once all that is done we are hitting the road and going to Georgia. We have been RVing for a few years now and one of the things we always went by was slow is better and never try and cram every thing into one day or week, or whatever. There is so much to see and we will not have any set schedule so I plan on taking as long as we need to get someplace and then stay there as long as it's still interesting to us.

Well, you should have a wonderful adventure awaiting you. Nice furkids. Looks like they've already got this RVing thing figured out

I think sometimes we forget that the freedoms we have are freedoms not because of celebrities. The freedoms are because of ordinary people who did extraordinary things, who loved this country more than life itself.

We too are from MI and on May 16 we left Ann Arbor and became full timers. This will be the first winter in my life of not having to deal with all that white stuff. And boy am I looking forward to it. So far it has been great. Usually by now already many winterizing tasks have been done, but not this year.

Have you thought of joining the Escapees Club? It is a great resource for full timers. Well, enjoy your new life.

We certainly aren't going to miss the winters either. Hopefully we will miss most of it when we leave after Dec 16th and head to Georgia until January.

Congratulations - we've only been FT for 10 month now.... or is it 10 weeks" Hummmm.....yeah, 10 months! And as you mentioned, we have been sticking largely to the superslab until we get much better handling the 5th wheel. It seems every time we get off the beaten path, an adventure awaits us.

Good Luck and we'll see ya.................
