Anyone travel I-10 lately with an RV. I heard that it was brutally rough a few years back but apparently were doing some improvements. Don't really want to beat my rig up if I don't have to. Thanks, Tim

Just did Baton Rouge to Houston and back this past Monday and Tuesday. I-10 is fine. Yes, years ago it was horrific. Night and day difference now. Last time I went with the 5er was summer of 08 but nevertheless, this week it was just fine(fine in 08 as well). I wouldn't worry about it at all. There was no construction on I-10 at all except for Vidor, TX. I-10 is as good as it's ever been. Go for it.

I agree, I-10 is a great road now. We drove it 6 months ago.

i haven't driven it since last year, but at that time it seemed the road was a little rough for 10 miles on either side of Lake Charles. May be fixed now...

That stretch is in good condition. There is a major construction area between Orange and Beaumont; but, there is always construction on I-10 in east Texas.

There is a section around Baton Rouge with some horrible expansion joints. It goes on for miles and miles.

I live here and am unaware of those expansion joints.

I don't remember just where but we came from Abita Springs to Lake Charles today and hit I 10 at Baton Rouge. Somewhere after that there was a strech of about 20 miles of sectional road that kept me down to about 55 and still shook my fillings loose

We moved!! No more nasty neighbors, no more rotten parking. I am saving this picture just to remind myself how bad it was.

There is a 15 mi stretch just East of Lafayette that has expansion joints that give you those annoying thumps.
