I'm looking for at least an 8 channel dvr.
Someone posted a link to a really good and cheap site a while ago. Anyone know of any? Thanks Fred

I posted this some time ago. I don't know if it is the place that you are talking about.

Super Circuits

What ever number of cameras you want, purchase a much larger recorder. I wanted 4 cameras and purchased a 8 camera recorder and glad I did.

I use an old computer running linux and Zoneminder. It supports NTSC cameras or IP cameras as well as internet access while I'm on the road.

If your looking to record while you are traveling, then you should get a mobile type recorder because their hard drives are more stable when being bounced around in a vehicle.

I sell and install CCTV equipment to commercial and municipal customers (no residential or out of state). I use either Panasonic (for municipal or banks) or Dedicated Micros for all others. Go to dedicatedmicros.com for info then contact a local dealer if it's what you want. The systems go from 4 camera up to 32 camera depending on the model.
