We have been driving from McAllen to Poza Rica have not seen one other rv. MOST PEOPLE LOOK AT US AS IF WE ARE FROM ANOTHER PLANET AS IF THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN AN RV. The coastal route is NOT SO GOOD. drove nine hours made only 315 miles today. May be longer but will try a different route on he way Back even if more miles. My wife said even if me have to retune thru Arizona and drive back to Texas. (She been taking all my xanax) what am i going to do. Now she drinking all the rum! Glad me bought the small 27 foot class B+ the 40 foot bus would have been very, UGH.

We have to wait until thanksgiving. I have been told I have too many other things to do around the house and to not have time to go anywhere, according to my DW.

Are you still heading to Xcalak? Where are you heading before then.
We plan to cross the border about 11/16-17.

Yes we are heading to Xcalac we have friends that live there. Taking some meds. to them from the states. We will stay about a month. We will try the interior route going home. Hope the tollroads are better than the coastal route. Not that I am in a hurry, just a long day. Think I need to get the tools out tomorrow and tighten all the bolts HA HA! We have been coming to Mexico since the 80s just always fly in rent a car and drive. Never in a motorhome. Are you coming to Xcalac ? If so keep in touch maybe we can all meet at the leaky palapa for some good food and friendship.

Sounds like you are abusing yourself. 315 miles in a day in Mexico is way too many. You should be parked no later than 3 pm, sipping a nice beverage!
We rarely drive more than 200 miles a day in the US and 200km in Mexico unless it takes more to get to a camping spot. Enjoy yourselves. Think we'll head that way after the first of the year, so please keep the travel updates coming!

Yah, slow down just-you2. The only absolute in Mexican time is that Manana still comes Manana. Right on time, every 24 hours! There's always another Manana, so save some of your driving for then. Enjoy!

You will find the toll roads to be a much easier drive- like interstates in many places. Also, that coastal road gets a LOT better once you get to approaching Campeche- doesn't sound like you are going that far- too bad....maybe next time.
