Well whatever it does or doesn't do, if you're going to be in the area, please go buy some bottled water. Remember it is a gallon per day per person. Small animals somewhat less but don't forget them and you should have a week's worth.
I mention this because I was quite horrified to see people in Texas a few years back, three days after a hurricane, standing in line because "it's been three days and we don't have any water!" Which is just plain silly when you've had several days' warning that a storm is coming. There are lots of other things you should have, but none so critical as drinking water, and it is cheap when bought by the gallon.
Come to think of it, its been sort of a non-season for hurricanes, hasn't it?

I buy white rum. Same color and no one else can tell. Well, at least until I get to the second gallon..............
Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

That's fine, if you have the money. If you don't, you'll have to settle for water. Either way, I don't wanna hear about any of you standing in line because you're all dried out in three days!

Not going to be a Hurricane when it makes landfall. It'll be lucky if it is a Tropical Storm. Latest models show it headed up the Central Gulf then curving East toward the Panhandle or the Big Bend area of Florida. Hopefully it dumps a lot of rain in my area. We need it.

We're in Gulf Shores Alabama in an RV park where we plan to spend the winter. We picked up and put away all out outdoor stuff and hooked the truck up to the 5th wheel. We'll wait and see what things look like later tonight or tomorrow. At least we are ready to head out if need be...It's looking like we may just get some wind and a couple of inches of rain. I hope so.

Bud's family in Milton, near Pensacola, is taking Ida seriously, checking out the generator and buying extra supplies. They had been expecting just a lot of rain, which they need badly, but apparently now all bets are off. Better to be prepared...

We were in Anchors Aweigh, in Foley Ala. but since I don't trust the weather experts we hook-up and went North. I hope it rain, and no wind damage. When the Oil companys start pulling them off the Oil platforms I'm going North. You never know were a Hurricane will go. So we are in Greenville Ala. until Ida does her thing, we will return to Foley when the weather clears. Good Luck to all who are riding out Ida. GBY....
