We really like Myrtle Beach State Park. We took a drive to check out Huntington Beach Park....nice park but the sites were very open. To us more like camping in a field. Definitely liked the woodsy feel of Myrtle Beach instead.

Anyway we celebrated my wife's birthday by going to the Library Restaurant in Myrtle Beach. What a treat. I definitely recommend it. Not on the cheap side but great for a celebration. Food and service was outstanding.

We camped there in September and also drove to Huntington Beach State Park. We feel exactly like you. Loved MBSP. Also your admission to Huntington is free with your mirror tag from MBSP. In our opinion, MBSP beats any commercial CG in the area, and it's cheaper!

Have never eaten at the Library, will try it in April on our next visit. Thanks for the recommendation.

My opinion is just the opposite. I prefer HBSP as it is more open and do not have my neighbor within arms reach of my RV. Plus I have been to MBSP just after it rained and the sites were a muddy mess, or lots of wet sand to drag inside your RV. Traveling with two dogs wiping their feet and the standing water is not my cup of tea. Glad you both like MBSP as this makes more openings for HBSP. The paved road inside the campground is also nice as it does not cause dust, or mud when it rains. In addition the sites seem bigger and easier for the bigger rigs to navigate. JMO

Nomadac- Different strokes I guess. I thought most sites were large at MBSP. Also all the roads are paved. How long since you've been there?

The sites at Myrtle Beach are rather deep. Trees and shrubbery help to give you space between sites. Some rather large rv's pulled into the sites that have full hookups.
Yes the roads are now paved, they have wifi at the office and a great walkway to the pier.

Huntington has a different feel.

Actually next year we are going to spend 30 days at Huntington and 30 at Myrtle Beach. They changed the rules from Dec - Feb where they now allow this.

We were in MB at the end of September, beginning of October. Stayed at MB RV Park. Nice campground, fairly narrow sites.

We ate at a lot of restaurants but only went back to one for two different evenings. A dive bar called Bimini Oyster Bar. () It's in a short strip mall just off of 17. Plastic lawn chairs and tables, but fantastic seafood.

Last time we were at MBSP there were a lot of signs up warning of snakes. Has this changed? I don't do well with snakes around!
