I live in Houston and well let's just say we don't get much cold weather. However, does anyone recommend winterizing? We will be using the camper during thew winter a few times and then it stays under outdoor covered storage.

I live in Dallas. I blow the water lines out and add RV antifreeze to the drains from Dec. to March. We use our trailer year round also. This is very simple insurance as we don't get that much below freezing weather up here either.

I wouldn't see any need unless the trailer is left somewhere that you COULDN'T get to it in case something strange should occur. I've seen snow on Padre Island in the past so strange things CAN happen.

We live in the Fort Worth area and watch the weather very carefully. We don't winterize until we see a need since we have trips planned all the way through February. To winterize all we do is drain our fresh water tank, blow out the lines and pour RV antifreeze down each drain. That way we can still be ready for a trip in a moments notice.

In Houston? Forget it. To be sure if you are worried, just put some RV antifreeze down the drains for the P-traps, but even that's unnecessary. When was the last time the temp dropped below 25 in Houston? I live in the Austin area and I just drain my low water drains and use the pink antifreeze and we're a LOT colder here than you are.
OBTW, it was 80 here today, severe clear and perfect golf weather.

We live near Ft Worth and only drain & blow the lines. Add antifreeze if weather is predicted to get below freezing for a couple of days.

We live in your area (northeast corner of Harris County) and have never felt the need to winterize.
The only time we might have done anything was the year 8 or 10 years ago when we got snow on Christmas eve and it stayed cold for several days. We were in Aruba at the time so we didn't do anything at all and had no damage.

The only thing I do for winterizing is drain the water heater and fresh water tank. Of course the gray and black tanks are empty. I also open the low point drains on the water lines.

We live up in N Texas. Do the same as others, but also drain water heater. Doesn't take that long to do.

i'll and to the point made by others i'm in a similiar climate maybe a hair warmer in the winter i drain my water heater and my lines but don't use anti freeze.
most of my plubming is enclosed but the waste tanks are not.
