I was reading about using plexiglass or lexan on RV screen doors.
I am looking forward to do this mod on my TT, but i need to clear some doubts.
Do i cut a hole where the outside door connects with screen door?
i guess i use the same hole to open it.

I need some suggestions and/or tell me what you did.

Thanks in advance.

Polycarbonate for sure. BTW Lexan is just the name for GE's polycarbonate. There are several brands of polycarbonate out there, very good product. (worlds toughest plastic).

Not real sure, but I think most people that do this mod just do the top and bottom and leave the center section with the slide as is. JMHO

Your going to pay considerable more, but...when relitive little pressure plexiglass breaks or if is put into binds, it shatters into splinters. polycarbonate can crack & splinter also, but it takes a whole lot more pressure to do so. Ending up doing the project all over. Test: Wear gloves and safty glasses. Take a thin piece of plexiglass, say 8"x8", and bend it ever so lightly away from you. POP. Take the same size thickness, size, piece of Polycarbonate it will bend way over before breaking.

Polycarbonate is also used for shooting glasses because of it's impact resistance. If your bank has those thick plastic "windows" in front of the tellers it's polycarbonate.

polycarbonate will not break or splinter. We use Lexan at work and you can bend it at a 90 and it will not sever in a press break. Lexan is expensive , but far superior

We only covered the bottom half of the screen door to protect the screen from the pup.

Anyone figure a good way to put a latch on the screen door to keep pets from pushing it open?
