Hi all,

I've been looking at battery pages for quite some time now and thought I'd share what I've found so far.

Please feel free to add other possible links to this "short list":

http://evbatterymonitoring.com/

http://www.batteryuniversity.com/index.htm

http://www.smartgauge.co.uk/technical1.html

http://www.smartgauge.co.uk/technical2.html

http://www.powerstream.com/1922-FLA.htm

The last item is somewhat dated--but a fascinating read all the same--with lots of good information and some super pictures.

You might want to also look over the Poop Sheets by Phred Tinseth.

I installed a E-Meter in my motorhome when it was new, and it closely and accurately monitors the amp hours going into and out of the battery bank.

This allows me to recharge the batteries when needed, and only run the generator as little as required to get the job done.

I also use hydrocaps to recycle the gas going out of the batteries back into water, so I only need to add a little every year.

Good Luck,

Fred.

There are also about a thousand posts here on RV.NET (Or whatever portal you use) about batteries.. if you delete the space sfrom A N T M O N Y and do a forum search you will find a good one that does a great job of describing the difference between Deep Cycle, Marine/Deep Cycle and Starting batteries on one level

(There are other differences as well)

I would like to read a summary of what you learn.... I've posted my own more than once.

Hi wa8yxm and Oldman2,

With respect,

I was looking for actual researched articles--not the chatter on RV.net, which may or many not be accurate.

Wa8yxm, I'll try that search--thanks for the suggestion.
