Here's the story...
I was originally going to get a camper with a dry tongue weight of 800lbs. (dry weight of camper 6085lbs). Figuring the loaded tongue weight would be closer to 1000lbs. I purchased an Equalizer Hitch with the 1200lbs weight bars.
The deal on that camper fell through. The new camper I am getting has a tongue weight of 590lbs (dry weight of camper 6108lbs). I'm sure the loaded tongue weight will be around 800lbs or so.
Will I still be okay with the 1200lbs bars or should I get the 1000lbs bars?

Personally I would go with the 1K bars, but that is only if your statement regarding weights are accurate. Where are you getting the TW numbers from? Since they are often way off in the printed materials from the manufacturer.

What he said. Plus everyone is always looking for bigger bars, so finding someone to trade with should be pretty easy.

Forget dry weights! What is the GVWR of the TT? Figure 12-15% for tongue weight from the GVWR. My tongue weight is listed at 800#. It is actually closer to 1100# with a little water in the holding tank, 2 30# propane tanks, and a battery. If I fill the water tank, I am well over 1200#. I say go with the 1200# bars. You'll be glad that you did.

With an Equal-i-zer hitch, it is not just a matter of changing the bars. You need to get a whole new hitch head also since the bars are not interchangeable like they are on normal WD hitches. I would use the 1200lb bars that you have now.

The 10k has been working good for me so far but a 12k would also and I certainly wouldn't mind having a little stronger WD setup.

If the dry weight of your camper is around 6100 pounds, the gross will likely be near 8000 pounds. If 15 percent of that is on the tongue you are in 1200 pound spring bar territory. Best to load it up and then weight the tongue. You might be surprised how heavy it really is.

Good advice from jmtandem above. Use 15% of the GVWR of the trailer to establish the maximum tongue weight of your trailer.
