Rolling up and folding a 55 pound RV cover while it's on the roof of the RV is relatively easy. All I need to do is tie it up and toss it off of the roof onto the ground.
How do you guys get it back onto the roof to unroll it? I've tried getting it up there with two ladders, side by side, (one a step ladder to rest it on,) but it's a struggle lifting that bulky weight to roof level and then hoisting it up over the edge. Once it's up there it's easy to unfold. Any suggestions?

Another way would be to tie a rope around it and using your ladder as a guide pull it up to the roof.

I used to tie a rope to the bag the cover was in and throw the rope over the coach. Then, I climbed up the ladder onto the roof and hauled the cover up. If you are concerned about scratching the side while pulling it up, you can have a second rope controlled by someone on the ground to keep it away from the side.

Since I live in an area where it never snows, I would use the coach on a regular basis. It was always so much of a hassle to put the cover on and take it off, it finally got consigned to the garage.

Thanks for the tips. I just bought a cum-a-long at Harbor Freight.
I can attach it to the cargo carrier on the roof and winch the bundle up the side of the RV until it reaches the roof. As long as it's soft material, I don't have to worry about scratching.

Ray....I'm able to park my coach in my side yard and I have one of the heavy cloth covers. It's too big to lift on the roof. I mounted one of the plastic garden boxes (approx. 4'L x 3'T x 2'D) from Home Depot atop a wrought iron fence directly behind the motor home. I fold the cover toward the center of the roof so that it's running the length of the roof and about 2'-3' wide. I pull the cover back toward the box (which is about 6' off of the ground) and let the cover zig zag fold into the box. Just keep pulling it in until all of it is in the box.

When you're ready to cover the coach, just pull the leading edge of the cover out of the box and onto the roof. Once on the roof, just drag the cover across the roof. This system of dragging the cover was recommended by Adco.

when you start to use the come-a-long, watch the cargo carrier or you may remove the cargo carrier instead of raising the cover. Cargo carriers are generally not that strong nor are they secured to the roof that well.
