Generally I like the free AVG product I have been using although the latest version I have (8.5) seems to be a CPU hog. Does not let you have many options on scheduling updates.
Has anyone upgraded to 9.o and what is your experience with it?

I downloaded and installed version 9 two week ago and it's GREAT..!!

It's twice as fast and not near as large of a program as the old 8.5 version..

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

I updated to AVG Free 9.0 several weeks ago and everything seems to be working fine. I have Vista Home Premium 64 bit on a 2 Quad CPU at 2.66 Hz, with 4 gigs of RAM. My Windows Experience Index is at 5.4 due to a slow graphics card, but otherwise the ratings are in the high 5's.

Don't confuse AVG's upgrade to updating their free anti-virus program. They want you to buy their improved products.

The only thing that won't be free is the support for AVG 8.5.........AVG 8.5 will be discontinued after that date is all..............AVG 9.0 will continue to be free after 12/1/2009..........
