Tires are not built to run with a tube and will run hot with a load and at speed. Unsafe with these new radials.

I was just checking and will not use a tube. I already got rid of the tire. Have cameras going up focused on the trucks and when he does it again, I will go to court. I already have the X10.com cameras and they work great.

Try the place you bought them. They might be covered by a road hazard warranty. It is worth a try, and I have done it many years ago whaen it happened to me.

By the way...what did you do to your neighbor?

I have tubed plenty of tubeless tires with no issues. Although I would not fix a sidewall slice with a tube. You need a new tire.

I am so sorry that happened to you. It really stinks. Report the vandalism to the police, make the report. You don't know, they may have other victims of this vandal. Call your insurance company and make a claim. Your homeowners may also cover vandalism on your property.

If you think it is really a neighbor tell the police why - there must be some reason for your suspicion. Let the police figure it out. But let them know what happened. Don't wait until he/she does something else.

And take the tires to the tire dump site. Your life is too important to drive around on questionable tires and so are ours.

May you be blessed with good neighbors.

It should be covered under your comprehensive coverage, subject to your deductible of course.

Ditto on having put tubes in tubeless tires. They even make a specially constructed tube for radial tires to better handle the heat generated by the flexing sidewalls. Currently have a tube in one of the tires on my Neon. Bad magnesium wheel casting that leaks air to the tune of 5 lbs per week. Putting the tube in was far cheaper than replacing the custom wheel... All of the tubeless tires on my John Deere have tubes in them...keeps the ballast liquid from rusting the steel wheels.

However, I have to agree that in this particular case a patch and tube would not be the solution for a longish slit from a knife into the sidewall of the tire; particularly with the assumption that it is a radial tire.

I have experenced the same thing a neighbor of my GF was a snot-nosed 14 year old girl hanging out with 17 18 year old boys playing the radio loud at all hours.

when my GF's mother complained they knifed her front tire.

we just replaced it and said nothing maybe should have but two women living alone in a bad side of town (are there good sides anymore) more things would have gone wrong.

the girl got mad at her mother and set the house on fire noone was hurt but GF and her mother were happy they were gone.

I used to work p/t in a tire shop. We had a girl's car that came in on a flatbed with 4 sliced tires (ex-BF.) We replaced them under the road hazard warranty.
