I have the idea that the reason the image can be so very wide is to allow for panorama and combined pictures. What you do to combine is to make open a new window or select new image in your photo edit software. Then you copy each image into the new place and save as.

My places visited maps are a combined image like that. I could have room to add a photo of my rig to get to that 500 pixels wide.

& I, I took the road less travelled by.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies and help. I finally had to resize to 132X100, as my Canon resize program will not let me chose 500X100. If you have any suggestions in that regard, they would surely be appreciated.

Please know that I am sometimes technically challenged, so please keep your terminology simple.

Thanks again,
Dawn

In resizing pictures, one does not resize both dimensions. You should resize one and let the software take care of the other. Otherwise, the picture would be distorted. Note: Cropping and resizing are not the same. You can crop to exactly 500 X 100, but the chances of haveing exactly what you want in the picture are slim.

Hi Tom,

Yep, I called Canon and they tried to talk me through setting the pixils at 500X100. And, they discovered that the resize software will only do one or the other. Thus, I had to adjust the height to 100 and let the software do the rest. That is how I ended up with 132X100.

I cropped the picture, before I tried to resize it. I am happy to have a signature now, but still do wish that I could get it larger. OH! Well...... Guess I will try again when I take a better picture to post. This was our first trip with the “new to us” ‘05 Jeep. I am sure that there will be many opportunities for more beautiful pictures in our future.

Thanks again to all!!
