I'm hoping that the roof vents are prewired with 12V for a fantastic fan in my Four Winds. I looked, but nothing shows except the wood framing and the ceiling panel which is glued so there is no way to access wiring if it exists. Does anyone know if there is wiring up there and how I would go about gaining access to it? I'm not liking the idea of wire-mold.

Have you tried contacting Four Winds? I don't know if they can tell you, but if anyone can, they should be the ones.
I assume you are talking about the vent over the rear bed?

You may be able to snake a wire up there, but it will take some serious play time! I think I'd go with the wire mold, and run from the back center, so you don't notice it, unless you are laying in bed.

Bill, I probably will end up having to contact Four Winds. I usually ask here first because collectively there is an awful lot of knowledge and most of the people here are friendly and willing to share their experiences. It's much more fun than sitting phone in hand on hold for a half hour.

You have that right!!
Do you happen to have the wiring diagram for the RV? Sometimes it will say if there is a wire to the vent? Just a thought!

Wiring Diagram? Oh yeah, that would be with the rest of the documentation on this thing that I didn't get. I'm the 3d owner and the only paperwork was old park folders under the dinette! I have managed to get docs for most things off the net from the manufacturers, but no wiring diagram. I'll figger out sumpin'. Thanks for the replies.

Our 06 FW is pre-wired for a Fantastic Fan. The rear vent already has a fart fan...

Most of the time there are dome lights near the roof vents, your Fantastic fan can be wired from there.

jml, you are brilliant. The rear vent is right next to the light. The one in the cabover is about 2' away, but it was an easy fish. Thanks to all who responded. I was afraid that I'd spend hours trying to fish the wires through.

Wrote you a personal message which you can disregard. However, you might still want a wiring diagram. I will see if I can find one for my unit and will let you know if I do.
