Cesar would probably train the dog to prefer bananas like he did on a past program.

My dog is 4 and eats anything she can pick up on our walks. But her favorite is fescue grass . I let her go in a dog run in Vegas recently and she ran out to the middle and you would of sworn she was a cow chomping away like crazy until i got to her on a run.

Does it eat rocks outside of the kennel? May like the taste of what has been deposited on the rocks. I have two labs and they will eat anything. The old dog ate two pair of glasses one night when she was a puppy. Called the vet and all he said was "must be a lab." I'd call your vet if you are worried.

Hopefully the pebbles are small enough to pass through when swallowed. This can become a "LIFE THREATENING" situation if the rocks/pebbles lodge in the intestines. It is also a very expensive surgery.
We have a Basset Hound who has had two surgeries from swallowing rocks that became lodged in his intestines. First time was on a camping trip, and we believe the two swallowed rocks came from under the picnic table and probably had spilled food or drink on them. The second time was in our rock proofed yard until the "Cable Guy" came into the yard, dug beside the house unearthing rocks from the foundation, and tossed them into the shrubs along with a spilled coke can, and partially eaten doughnut. Bogie found them and back for another surgery.

Here is Bogie's incision from his first surgery. The second looked the same.
Our vet told us to prevent him from doing this again to get a muzzle for him to wear whenever we were near rocks. Bogie has become a real trooper about his muzzle. It's an Italian Basket Muzzle, and he can bark, pant, and even drink water with it on. We had to put screen mesh on the sides sewed on with dental floss, because he learned he could lay his head sideways and scoop up things he wanted.

My husband calls him our "little hockey goalie".

A close up of the muzzle with the screen mesh.
I would remove the rocks and put down another surface if possible. Good luck finding an answer of how to prevent this behavior. When you do let us know.!!!

We call the cat leavings "truffles!" I have one dog, a rat terrier, who loves them. Problem is he wants to give me a big "kiss" after he indulges,NOT!!!!

Our Dog ate rocks and we couldn't stop him. After much research we discovered he was missing Potassium in his diet. We started mixing Bananas in his food and sure enough he stopped eating rocks.

had similar problem with our labs. talked to vet and was told to change the formula of the dog food. There are minerals sought by animals in various ways. The food may not be meeting the mineral requirements of the dog. The same is true to seeking the nutrients remaining in the skat of other animals such as cats and rabbits or other dogs.
changed food and spent more money and things are ok
