Does anyone know how the Stable Loads work with the Chevy HD 2500? I can see how they would work well on the Ford's. I have a 2,700 lb. TC and was thinking about the Stable Loads.

I'll let you know after Thanksgiving. I had them on my last trip but had a lot of sway. Got home to find out my Rancho adjusters do the opposite of sticking, they work their way back to the first setting. I'll keep an eye on them next time. I don't keep them on unloaded though, very stiff!!

I'm confused about a couple of the comments above, Stable Loads shouldn't make any differance when unloaded, my truck sits at least 2" above the SL's and don't come into play until loaded with the camper or whatever else. Comments above indicate "it makes a very stiff empty ride and they don't keep them on".

it could be that his rear springs are sagging when unloaded and the overloads are closer to the springs. I ordered a set for my truck yesterday.We'll see how they work out.

Could be that you have a Dodge 3500 and I have a GMC 2500? (just asking because I don't know) And yes, I could back them off but I don't have much room to do that, they would still hit on a speed bump or dip. I may have a sag on one side, but it's not noticeable until the camper is on. And I tend to think that backed off they'll rattle a bit without a load on them. I'll check it out tonight. But believe me, "stiff" isn't the word. It's more like "rigid". Not words I want to associate with my suspension.

On newer Chevys, the overload spring is on the bottom, rather than above the main pack like on Fords and Dodges. There is less vertical free travel distance between the bottom overload and main springs on a Chevy than the top overload and frame bumpers on a Ford or Dodge. That could be the reason the Stable Loads hit the springs when empty on a Chevy, but don't usually do so on a Ford or Dodge. Chevys also have softer springs than Fords and Dodges, so they will flex more when unloaded than the stiffer Ford/Dodge springs.

They will give your truck a jarring ride because there isn't enough room to fit them and keep the overloads from contacting the main spring pack when your TC is unloaded.

When the TC is loaded they work well; unloaded they are too harsh and I take them off.

I have an '05 2500HD long bed with the stable loads, airbags and aftermarket HD shocks.

I have an 05 Chevy 2500HD with a Lance 845 (about 2700-2900lbs fully loaded) I chose to go with the Helwig LP-25 Load Pro helper springs instead of Stable Loads because with the HD2500 there is little space between the overload and the main spring pack. With the LP-25 ( simple bolt on), air bags at 25lbs.(don't know that you would need these with the LP-25 but I already had them on) and a Helwig antisway bar on the rear it rides great.
