Seems there's some interest in the Fernley, NV location. Here's a post for it!

We just got here today. Anyone else doing Fernley?

Glad someone is going to post about Fernley. We are thinking about trying it next year so will be interested in any and all comments about the jobs, attitude of permanent workers, how, where, and when to apply, RV parking, weather and anything else you can think of. Wife thinks it would be good for me to work and she will return the wages to the local Casinos.

Well, amazon has proven to be appreciative of workampers...and if you look at the job discriptions for their permanent hires, they mention facilitating employees needs and supporting them. If they work the way the kansas guys do they even have info on rv parks.....it will be interesting to hear if that is a corporate approach to work camping. Hey there, Sgt. Joe!

That's a great way to look at it but Amazon isn't doing the hiring, nor communicating with the potential employees. The people that are treat work campers the same as everyone else. No exceptions.

There are about 6 campgrounds in Fernley/Wadsworth. There are more in Reno and Fallon.

Some friends of mine start work in November at the Fernley location. They will be sending me more info after they get there. They did tell me that your RV site is NOT paid for by the employment agency. They mentioned the park they made reservations at charges $350/month plus electric, yikes! I've lost interest in going already...

$350/month for RV site ??????
If I do a conventional workcamp and work 25 hrs/week for my site - that would be 25hrs * $7.50 = $187.50/week and for 4 weeks that would be $750/month for my site.
$750 minus $350 = $400. I'm ahead all ready...........
Sounds like the Amazon gig is a keeper.

If I'm correct I believe Fernley NV pays a higher wage then KS to offset the RV site cost. Anyone know the difference??
