We are also first time SBs. We are leaving Dec 26 for Kissimmee Florida for a month and them some where else unknown for another month. This will be our first time this long for my wife and I since we both stopped working this year.

Wish us luck on this adventure.

Just misc stuff (cold, wet, windy, and a very black night here in MN, fun to talk about leaving.)

Happy Jim - Good Luck!!! It's not nearly as hard as I thought it would be. Thank goodness for cell phones, GPS's, and Wal-Marts (when I goofed up on where to spend the night and as a free ATM.)

Jest4fun - The old owners of my rig had a cockatoo that would go down to Florida with them. From what I heard, it loved it. Don't forget to check out Tunica outside of Memphis. Nice RV parks at a good price. They just opened up a straight shot to them I55 to I69 then down 713/304 as I remember.

DaSu - starting to look like we might be traveling companions.Hopefully we won't get a repeat of the ?95? Halloween storm while on the road.

Polishnurse - sounds like I need to read up on Hill country. Good thing to do tonight given the bad weather here.

ljr - thanks for noting the parks. On our way back from FL I wanted to stop at Foscue COE, just didn't have the time. Now I wish we did. I'll have to check out Goose Island SP instead. Wonder if they give a senior discount like COE.

SGTJOE - our kids/grand kids are doing the big lip also. Maybe we'll fly or drive the toad back. That's going to be up to Grandma.

don&pat - what a nice itinerary, good luck with the sale of your house. Ours sold two years ago, I feel pretty lucky now, given what's been happening for the last couple of years in real estate. Last thing I read is the market has put in a bottom and sales are going up.

We are part of the freshman class this year. Heading for the Gulf Shores AL area on the 16th of Oct. by way of Tunica. From there we will drift west and end up in Las Vegas in March and then back up north. We are really looking forward to the adventure. Hope to meet lots of new friends on our travels.
