I took my mine last night to a road game. We did not do anything special. We stopped at Wendy's on the way. The kids slept on the way back home.

I am wondering what you do when you tailgate before a high school football game? I don't think it is appropriate to consume alcohol before these type of events but I usually do when I arrive home that night.

I will probably only take my motor home to the road games.

Or what?

Sure hope your kids have never been on a school bus/tour bus/church bus/passenger train/limousine/powerboat/jet ski/etc.

Because guess what..THEY DID NOT HAVE A SEATBELT EITHER. What a terrible way to live life, only to finally die enternally and be put in the ground, the same as all the rest of us, but without having lived.

As to the original poster, I have never seen a motorhome being used to tailgate to high school games, but it sounds like a neat idea. The parking is probably free too, so that gives you a leg up on tailgating at college games ($) or pro football games ($$$$$$$$$$$)

To OP
Sounds like you are doing good to me. We often take the MH places so that the kids can sleep on the way home or do homework. Since the kids aren't in HS yet, we don't tailgate at HS games. Sounds like a great idea tho.

Since I'm usually either working in concession stand (home games) or chaperoning (away games) for band I've never tailgated. But, at our home games, we have folks that bring grills in their pickup trucks and tailgate before game. Some have 3 to 5 cars gather around them and join them. Doing this with a MH would be great!

Must be nice in Texas! Our local high school would NEVER pass up an opportunity to vacuum some more money out of our pockets. Parking used to be $2, but I think it's going up to $4 this year.

My wife took the TT to the eldest's high school track meets. Those can last all day. She kept the little ones nice and comfy inside no matter the weather. This also gave them room to play and a clean potty.

We don't tailgate at the high school games, but we do at college games.
1. Invite all the friends that you can think of.
2. Have everyone bring at least one food item to share.
3. Bring folding chairs, tables, etc. whatever you feel that you need.
4. Set up the radio to listen to pre-game of the local station.
5. Have a blast!

yes, we did.
Had all the team parents do a pot luck and we grilled hotdogs. Hardly anybody brought anything though. It was mostly just my food.
We were able to set up at the edge of the field near the goalpost.
unfortunately while we were at the 50 yd line watching our QB son, the wind gusted up out of nowhere and ripped our awning off.
All those parents who feasted on the food we brought were nowhere to be found when we could have used a hand.
ohh well, live and learn.

Oh by the way, re the sleeping kids, teh protest, and the comment about living before you die, aw, 'cmon! There' a big difference between seats on school buses and RVs. While I'm not fond of the lack of seatblets on schoolbuses, RVs are tin cans on wheels. I think, even properly belted, you stand a much lower chance of survival in a crash than you do in a vehicle. I'd never let my kids ride unbelted in any situation. The key to living, is, uh, LIVING! My kids aren't allowed to buckle up in the car and slump over to sleep. But they've done a lot of living and had a lot of adventures for kids in their teens and early 20s. Their being properly restrained in seat belts didnt hamper that at all.
