How are the Jeep or Samurai equipped? One thing to keep in mind, nothing is the same as the brochure. It's like menu pictures. the food never looks the same right? So everything you add to the trailer beyond the bare minimum is added weight. More batteries, inverter, spare tire, fuel station, gel coat ice maker etc... all were considered add-on's to my trailer.

You did the right thing by taking the truck to be weighed.

FYI my Jeep is now over 4000lbs.

Plan on keeping Jeep very stock .
Small lift if any I only have 6' of head room under Beds....
Just Lockers maybe a winch ...

I have the aluminum sides = lighter version....

Good point about batteries and stuff For instance I think the generator is an option...
So that may not be included...

Also plan to carry two dirtbikes = 500 to 600 lbs.

For planning purposes I would say the Jeep would weigh closer to 3300# if a soft top and another 100#s for a hardtop.

12K for both axles on the Ragen FA3005. Is it a Gelcoat or tin sidewall? The Sammy may work but definitely not the jeep with stock axles and tires. Are you going to travel with a full water tank and fuel tank(s). With a full water tank and fuel tank(s) you wont have enough capacity left... do the calc's -this calculator is very conservative.....

RV weight calculator

My FA3005 with 3 dirt bikes loaded cross-ways in the back only has +/- 500# of unutilized payload on the 2 trailer axles with a full water tank, full 40 gallon fuel tank and gear/food/beer for three for a week trip. Just went across the scale about 2 weeks ago going out of town.....

Usually full Water Butt could put some water in truck bed instead to save lbs.
Only 5 gallons of gas though , just enough for generator....

OK I'll check it out. thanx.

OK I found this from that website

GAW: Gross Axle Weight
Gross Axle Weight (GAW) is the actual weight placed on a single axle. Assuming a well-balanced vehicle, the GAW is then evenly distributed to all tires on that axle.
In addition to the axle weight rating, the GAW must be within the tire weight ratings as well. To determine the amount of weight placed on each tire, divide the GAW by the number of tires on the axle.
You may see the more specific RGAW, when referring to the rear axle, or FGAW, when referring to the front axle.

GAWR: Gross Axle Weight Rating
Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) is the maximum number that the GAW of a single axle should never exceed. You may see the more specific RGAWR, when referring to the rear axle, or FGAWR, when referring to the front axle.

This would put the axles at 24,000 lbs.

OK then that is the limiting (week link) number.

12,000 lbs. on trailer axles
trailer UVW is ............................8,890
Jeep .........................................3,000 ish
Sami .........................................2,000 ish
Chevy Tracker ..........................2,200 ish

Trailer with aTracker =11,090 leaves 910 for gear.

50 gal water X 8 lbs. = 400
two bikes ........ =500

And I'm at max.............?

What about all the guys I hear here that Haul Jeeps ? Are there trailers rated higher?

SAS!

I would say you need to weigh your Rage'n first. My 2008 FA 3405 (4' longer) is listed at 8,860 Lbs. in the brochure? I weighed it on the way home from the dealer empty, NO water, NO Batteries, 8 Gallons of gas and a few gallons of propane and it weighed 10,500 Lbs. (8,100 on the axles and 2,400 pin weight) True weights will change everything..
