We spent nearly a year at Holiday Trav-L, can attest to the quality of the folks running it and the upkeep of the park. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Another vote for the Holiday Trav-L park. Very convenient to the interstates. Clean and well managed. Can't speak about the bath facilities as we typically only use ours. But the rest of the park, while tight, is well maintained and friendly.
What to see? That depends upon your tastes. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting all of the area civil war parks, museums and battlefields. Wife and kids (when they were little) really enjoyed Ruby Falls and Rock City. Both are major tourist traps but then what isn't? They are still a decent site to see. My one regret is not getting to their aquarium. I have heard that it is very highly rated and thought of by aquarium fans. We've never stayed more than 2 days there so I have yet to see it. Next time for sure. I know there are lots of other things around there. Race or Drag strip near I-15. It is close to the Holiday park but seems to quiet down by 10 m.

We like Cloudland Canyon State Park (GA). Beautiful wooded sites in West Rim, on top of a mountain, short drive to Chattanooga, groceries, etc. at bootom of mountain in Trenton, Ga. Only drawback is no sewer hook-up., but does have a dump station. We have res there in October.

The Aquarium is a must see. It's the best I've seen, located in the downtown area. Our GPS took us right to it. It is well worth the effort, top notch.
We didn't take our camper so no advice on where to stay, although I'd be interested in finding a good campground for our next visit.

I would pick cloudland canyon.
Close to Lookout Mt.
You can stop on the way and watch the Hangliders. It takes your breath away watching them drop off the side of the mt.It is right beside the road.
Rock City,Incline,Point Park,Chickamauga Battle field.
We were just there a couple weeks ago.
Check out my pics
Sorry just noticed I forgot to add LookOut Mt.
I am loading them now.It my take about 20 min to load

Another vote for Holiday Trave-L nice park for a quick overnight and I certainly could see why someone would want to go for a week or more. Close to everything, nicely maintained and friendly folks.

One more vote for Holiday Trav-l Park. We've stayed there at least 20-25 times. Minutes from everything. Stayed at Cloudland Canyon a number of times as well. About 30 minutes out from Chattanooga. Traffic can be rough going into Chattanooga though.
Chickamauga Battle field is great early morning and in the afternoon, deer everywhere! All of the Civil war sites there and on Lookout Mountain (Point Park, Cravens House, etc.) are a must see. The Raccoon Mountain pumped storage facility is free and nice to visit. The list just goes on and on!
