The Jayfeather uses a engineered Dexter chasis. It is a modular HSLA frame and is therefore what I would consider "lightweight" in design.

As mentioned, the Jayflight is a different frame, it's a Leland 8-10" rolled one piece I beam.

My dad has a 10 year old 30 footer. He bowed his front a couple summers ago by some rail road tracks that surprised him. From the ball to the front of the camper was bowed about 6" to 8". We took it to a local welding/frame shop and they pulled it back down and welded in supports. It Cost about $150 in labor. In and out in a couple hours. Been fine and straight ever since. We painted the weld job and you wouldn't even know it has supports welded in. They welded supports on the inside of the "A" so you can't see them. It was a good fix.

The A frame on my trailer is 6" box frame and is welded to the header with an inside gusset as well. I can't see any bends and the header also looks like it has not twisted. Looks as if was welded on this way. I hope it is fine for my upcoming trip. Thanks for all the input.

Hope you had a safe trip Penney. Just wanted to let you know that I too have a 2008 Jayfeather 311. I had the axles replaced due to the wheel clearance. I also noticed the a-frame seemed to tilt up. I had the service department tell me twice that it was normal. I insisted pics be taken and sent to Jayco. Three weeks later Jayco sent out a new a-frame hitch. The dealer sent the trailer to a local welding shop and I just got it back a week ago. It looks okay but I guess time and use will tell.

My aframe bent becouse of the pressures from the equalizer hitch when
going uphill and making a turn. I had it reinforced and its ok now.
The header beam which was very light weight bent. I also repaired
a couple of cracks at the same time. I had my gen on the back but I dont know if that caused it or not.
