My old antenna rotted at the base. I bought a car one at autozone but it won't fit because the RV one has a coax connection and not a car one. I have checked Radio Shack and a bunch on Rv sites and can't find anything. Right now I have duct tape over the hole on the roof. Has anyone else had this problem? Solution?

Look for a marine antenna at a boat shop or on-line.

Without knowing what specific "car" & "coax" antenna connectors you have I can't give you a specific answer, but do a Google Search for car antenna adapter and you may find what you need.

Your antenna is probably a CB antenna or a combination FM CB antenna. How is it plugged into your FM radio? Adaptor?

I think what you are looking for is called a FNB connector. it has one end that the coax screws into and the other end has a slit in it that slides into the antenna. If you have a picture I can tell you if that is it.

Do a Google search for am/fm antennas. You will find indoor and outdoor antennas. The connectors are refered to as a F connector, the FNB mentioned by jcamp2003 may be the same thing.

Here is a pic of the roof end of the cable. I would like to get an antenna with this hookup because I tried to snake the wire but it won't move..
roof end

The radio end is your basic push on like an old car radio.
