Don't really know why, but colleagues and subordinates started calling me that behind my back years ago, even in Mexico - el Toro Gris... so I faked them out and adopted it. Over the years statues, paintings, drawings etc. have come my way; recently my yougest son even talked me into a tatoo on my left shoulder. Why? Well, why not!

When you come from Lake Huron up the Saginaw River, the river branches into the Cass and Flint Rivers to the left, the Tittabawassee River to the right and the Shiawassee River straight on.

Shiawassee is said to be Ojibway for "the river straight ahead". Heavens knows what Tittabawassee means.
Dale

On edit - Tittabawassee means "the river running around the shore" as it sort of curls around the south and West shores of Saginaw Bay.

I've been debating with myself whether to bore ya'll with this story. Everyone likes a story right?
I play harmonica and have for the better part of 30 years. I have passed a lot of long highway miles foolin around with them.(I drive truck for a living) Anyway, after a lot of years playing just for myself, I decided to try with a guitar player or two. There was an open mic night on weekends over in our county seat at a little coffee shop.
I went over and listened a couple times and then got talking with the guitar players. They said grab a harp and come on up.
Trouble was I had stage fright bad! Could'nt breathe, swallow, talk. Much less play.
Discovered that if I turned my back to the audience, I could manage. Couple times like that and got a little confidence and thought if I wear dark sunglasses maybe I could face the crowd. It worked rather well. I had sunglasses so dark they did'nt even know my name.
Someone called out one night to get blind bob up and play some harp and there ya go.

Well, since you asked, I'm a General class Ham Radio operator and my call sign is N2BBQ. Well, it seems that name was taken and I couldn't think of another.

Oh well...

I like this thread and liked "Blind Bob's" confession.

Mine? Simple enough, bka0721, my initials and the last four digits of my phone number. It makes it easy when I give it to others or my email address. It minimizes the need to repeat and repeat until someone gets it.
