RE: Turkey

We are traveling but not to see the kids. We are headed to Branson with the trailer, one last fling before I put the pink stuff in. Wish we could have all the boys together for the holidays but with 2 on active duty, they are pretty spread out in OK & ND. The one in ND will leave for Iraq just after the 1st of the year so we hope to all gather after he returns.
God Bless those who serve and have served we pray that everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

RE: Where to Access Holding Tanks?

More than likely your underbelly is enclosed and that is where your tanks are. The only way to get to them is drop the underbelly. I take it your tanks did not come with heaters attached. If you build or place a skitring around the entire 5th wheel you could place a light or heater in that enclosed area and I would think that should cover you in the Tulsa area.

City Park Camp grounds/RV Parks I-55 STL to Memphis

I really wish there was a guide for these. We have started staying at city park CG/RV Parks for the last year or so and have really enjoyed them. We found some real nice places in ND & SD Labor Day weekend and we were one of a very few RV in the place. In fact in SD we were the only ones.
At any rate we are headed towards Memphis soon and will be looking for another jewel along the route. If you know of any nice places let me know please.

RE: Increasing Basement Storage Tips?

I mounted a piece of peg board in the front compartment of mine. You can hang hoods, they have baskets, and all kinds of things you can mount.

RE: Hot Light Switch

Hot Light Switch

The light switch just inside my front door gets hot went the lights are left on. This is is 3 switch placement 2 of them control the outside lights and one the living room. I pulled the switch to check for a loose wire but found nothing loose. I did notice that either the ground or hot wire is jumped from switch to switch with one incoming controlling all 3 I think. Any ideas on where to look for the problem? Thanks in advance.

RE: Landing gear shakes

Firm is better. If you can shake the leg and get movement you need to find the problem.

RE: Landing gear issues 07 Wildcat

I don't see the diagram but I think mine did the same thing. The reduction box has two posts on it. One on each side, this holds the motor and box up against the landing leg on one side or the other. My problem was a bad leg and yes it was costly. I replaced with the Ultra Fab that has 2 motors. It did cost a little more I think but not much and it sure does make a difference.

RE: Replacement Toilet

The wife and I (mostly wife) put this in a little over 2 years ago. Now we don't use it everyday like you do but we do use it 4+ months of the year and have never had a problem.

RE: adding second air unit

Although I had paid Camping World to wire mine into the breaker box (not pre wired) they chose to use the plug in the closet like you are talking about. This has caused no problems and they refunded me my money for the wiring job. The wiring runs thru the ceiling into the back of the closet and then comes out and plugs into the back wall.

RE: Disaster Preparedness?

So if you really have a concern take your next 2 week vacation and turn out the lights. Act as if you have no power and all that comes along with it. Make sure you have a note pad and pen so you can take notes. Learn from the mistakes and you will be better prepared. Come to think of it might want to try 1 week the 1st time out, 2 weeks without seems like a long time to stay in place and wait it out. I know I had issue when we were without for 6 hours a few weeks back with temp's heading towards 100 + in the Midwest. Just before the power came back I had told the wife to start packing we were going to head for the camper.

RE: adding second air unit

As stated before measure and then add the height of the new AC. I did this addition to mine but it didn't change my height I am still at 13'5"

RE: Proof that costco does do Fiver tires

Sure they do I have had mine now for almost 2 years. I got the BF Goodrich tires. I have lots of miles on them and the only problem was a nail in the side wall. They took care of it under road hazard and I got a new tire for $30.00 which amounted for the years worth of wear I had on the tire. If you ask me you can't find a better retailer to buy from than COSTCO. No I don't work for them or own stock. Wish I did, I do spend lots of $$$$$$$ at the local store.

RE: Blowing fuse(s) on Laredo lift motor

Had a similar issue with mine only I didn't have the rear legs down. One of my landing legs were in a bind and when I went to extend or retract past a certain point the fuse would blow. It ended up breaking the plastic leg on the motor that held it in place on the landing leg. I ended up replacing both legs with the Ultra Fab Legs. Now each leg has its own motor and the legs are a lot stronger.

RE: lil rocker 5th wheel hitch

I have the 16K version and love it. It has a nice clunk when that bar crosses and captures the pin. I painted my bar silver so I can see it. Less chance of dropping your trailer if you see the bar across and your lever has flipped down you are locked in.

I did use mine to support the front when the front leg decided to stop working. It turned out to be a great Jack Stand.
