RE: Where is your favorite place to camp in Washington??

Reading over the replies that have been posted so far has reminded me that there are just too many good parks to recommend. On the east side of the state our favorites are the Lakeshore RV Park, in Chelan. This is owned by the city of Chelan and is a nice park with lots of stuff for the kids. We also like Steamboat Rock State Park. On the west side of the state we like Grayland Beach State Park, or the Tacoma City Light park at Mossyrock on Riffe Lake.

RE: Hwy 49 north from Nevada City (CA)

Two years ago I traveled that road and loved it. Didn't take a tape measure out, but I was comfortable. My combined rig (truck and trailer) measures 45 ft. tip to tail.

RE: Speeds with Toad??

On the west coast, any vehicle in combination, and you would be considered to be in combination, is limited to truck speeds. 60 here in Washington. Even motorcycles with trailers are limited to that speed. What's your hurry anyway?

RE: What Did I Do Wrong?

When I hear hoof beats I don't necessarily expect to see zebra's. My bet goes to the hose also.

RE: One or two night camp near Seattle

My brother and sister in law commute to Seattle everyday from Bainbridge Island. Very easy trip. I have stayed at Faye Bainbridge State Park, on the Island. Nice place. You might do better, but you certainly could do worse. I'd stay there. Wait...I have stayed there. We like it!

RE: Route me from Glacier national park to Port Angeles, WA

I've done that drive with kids that age..many years ago. If you like freeways and no scenery, then take I-90 west from Spokane. If you like curvy two lane roads and high gas prices, go Canada. For variety, take either Hwy 2 or Hwy 20 through Washington. Lots of scenery and places to stay, and well within your milage limits. Personally, I like the Hwy 20 route.

RE: Truck

You don't need a 1 ton on this. My Dodge 2500 pulls mine just perfectly. A 2 wheel drive diesel will be a great combination. I love my Dodge, but if you like Ford or Chevy....get one.

RE: what are road conditions 101 Washington, etc

U.S. 101 is your typical 2 lane highway. Plenty of room for your rig. It will get a bit narrow in the Crescent Lake area, but slow down and you will do fine. Crescent Lake and the Port Angeles area has a lot to offer, including a very fine ferry service (foot/veh) to Victoria on Vancouver Island. Port Townsend and Fort Worden State Park is well worth the visit. Many people take the "Olympic Loop" I would suggest doing some research on the internet, but you will not be disappointed. (Forgot about the Hoh Rain Forest)...just too much to describe in one short reply.

RE: Trying to decide DA or Dodge 6.7

I was not a Dodge fan until I bought my 2006. Love the truck, and when I did have a tranny problem (out of warranty) Chrysler came through and fixed it. My wife loves driving the truck...oops.
