RE: 'What are the pros and cons to these members-only CGs?

Also, be very careful with buying a new or used membership.
Many memberships lock you into a life-long contract that you can only break by selling it to someone else.
I know this from personal experience but was finally able to "un-load" the membership to someone else that didn't care about the lifetime yearly fees.

RE: Lost weight distribution bar (one of them)

Here is the number of a guy in Lancaster, Ca. that deals in used hitches and parts:
Randy @ (661) 317-4526
Most RV dealers will have used bars from their trade-ins laying around.

RE: Turning Water Heater on and off

Do any of you turn off your water heater in the stick house between use? (Didn't think so). :W
Yes, when we're going to be away for an extended period. But our stick house water heater is electric, so I'm less concerned about a fire hazard than I am with a propane fired heater. When we're not going to be around the RV all day, I do turn it off as a safety measure. When we're there, it stays on.
As I said "between use" NOT when we go away. (Two different things). My comment was in tune with the OP regarding between use or after each use as the subject of this thread asks. :S

RE: Time Share company

I have purchased three timeshares from private sellers for literally pennies on the dollar. All are eternally deeded (not a 99-year lease) and I can sell them or will them to anyone and I own the deed. I have never been sorry and never will be as long as I don't purchase from the resort.
ALWAYS purchase a timeshare from the private owner.

RE: Dealer lists new Challenger on ebay and then backs out

Wow. The owner of this dealership must be very "proud" of this salesman. The liability this Bozo opened up his boss to is astronomical.
What a bonehead!! First sale on eBay and he didn't know to put a reserve price on the auction??

RE: Wine glasses

I have a wine glass rack over the counter and my glass stemware stay there, even when traveling.
Before I travel, I just slide a sock over every other glass. Never had one break.

Be sure the new bar's weight rating matches the remaining bar.

RE: Toilet bowl blow back

Also, it is possible that the vent pipe slipped down into the tank and now can't vent because the liquid in the tank is covering the end of the pipe.
It can slip because some manufacturers use a soft, rubber flange grommet-type fitting in the tank and the pipe can fall past the soft rubber ridge molded into the fitting.

RE: Solar Controller Safety?-(was " Sliding Out the Fridge" )

Thanks, so that should be easy. The instructions for installation and removal are clear enough and I can see where the connections are in back.
Only thing is I can't see where it is screwed on in front except two at the top where the screw holes in the black trim are capped with black plugs. Are there more screws in front hiding at the sides and bottom?
At the back there are four screws holding the metal "foot" onto the wood platform. I suppose just those screws at the bottom in back and the top in front would hold it in place. (?)
Should be it but aren't there any more in front around the frame if you open the doors?

RE: Solar Controller Safety?-(was " Sliding Out the Fridge" )

No big deal. That seal is nothing more than foam and pulling the screws around the front frame inside and two screws in the back securing the "feet" on the frame, the refer will push forward into the coach. Be very carefull with the propane line. In fact, I would shut down the gas and remove the line from the refer to prevent stress on the fitting and gas valve when moving the refer.

RE: Fresh Water Pump Longevity

And just an FYI...............
Because ShurFlo pumps use a three-chamber diaphram rather than an impeller, you can run them dry without ever damaging the pump.

RE: Oregon coast or inland rout?

Gosh -- I love it when people love my state! Yes, definately the Oregon coast. I5 is boring. Hwy 97 in central Oregon has it's own beauty, but NOTHING like the coast. Have fun!
Hi, Dee!
I also love your State.
I was headed up to Portland a few years ago, my first time in Oregon and camped at a State park near the Coast and just above Calif. I was pleasantly surprised to find warm, clean TILED bathrooms! First time I had ever seen a tiled bath in a State park.
I stayed there one night before I got a call from the DW that the daughter was headed to the hospital with pnemonia. Had to turn around and head home. I want to return someday again.

RE: 2 burners won't stay lit on stove when holding down button

I have a new RV and it doesn't have a safety on the top burners that keeps them lit when you release the knob. And in my nearly 30 years of servicing, I have never seen stove burner knobs that have to held in to light the burners and then released.
Just turn the burner knob and manually light the burner. Nothing to release as with the oven pilot light. Something doesn't sound right, here.

Nice! I have been thinking about one and found a used one for $800.00. Have been putting it off because I haven't figured out how to tell the DW where the $800 went.
