RE: How Often Do You Feed Your Dog?

Twice a day 6am and 7pm and a snack around 2pm and 11pm.
High energy dogs and for them this schedule keeps their glucose levels
more even through out the day.
Morpheus has the same feeding schedule.

Rug "Bunches" Up

How can I prevent my throw rug (5' x 7') from bunching up? It sits on top of my wall to wall carpet in the MH.

RE: Alcatraz....

Did last August. I bought the tickets two weeks in advance, stayed at an RV park in Novato - 10 minute drive to the ferry and a 30 minute ferry ride to the city then a 5 minute trolly ride to the departing dock. We did the 10 am tour to avoid the am traffic to the ferry from the rv park. We spent two hours on the island. Great history, fanastic photo ops and the weather was spectacular.

RE: Weather Radio

Hi - on the road I DON'T program my radio for SAME technology - I just leave it on general alert - meaning it will activate for any alert in the area. BTW, the Trailer Life Directory does LIST the COUNTY the CG is in - useful for this purpose. ST

RE: Tip or no Tip

I'm in the "no help" camp too. Trying to interpret the hand signals, shouts, etc. of someone who I've never worked with is annoying. Geez it's hard enough with the missus! ;-)
Just tell me the site #, give me a map of where it is, & leave me the hell alone!
Agree. I travel the country solo so I'm pretty good at navigating around - parking is a fun challenge on occassion.

RE: Can I heat my RV by using the cooktop ??????

First of all not a good idea. Second, no damage to the stove, Third, since you live in snow country (Ohio) would you use a propane BBQ to heat your house? Not trying to be a wise a**, but this question seems a little odd. Good luck.

RE: guns in National parks

Shotgun - great outline. Thanks for the input. I can tell you that after going through 80 hours of handgun training, in the last 6 months, I'm less likely to use it because 1) I realize more clearly all the legal issues involved with its use, even when justified 2) I am more aware of my surroundings and avoid potentially uncomfortable situations. However I have it because certain situations may arise where I might need it to protect myself or a loved one. A 911 call responds, I may need to react, yes even in a National Park. If you are curious why send me a PM.

RE: Is Mexico Safe?

Considering my Mexican friends have reduced their visits south of the border dramatically in the last 5 years and when they do go they are very cautious - even though they speak the language and have family there. I think I'll stay north of the border.

RE: Agriculture products into California

I have California plates and I always return home with fruits and veggies on board. I'm always asked where I'm coming from - the answer is either Arizona, Nevada, Utah or Oregon. Next I'm asked if I have fruit on board - the answer is yes. Finally I'm asked if I have any of the following fruits, which they list. If I have anything on their list the following has occurred, 1) I'm asked where I purchased it and do I have a receipt, or 2) with or without a receipt I have been told sometimes to please discard it in "that" container or eat it before moving on. My rig has never been searched. On my last entrance two weeks ago on I-15 I was asked if anyone else besides myself was on board.

Headlights Stay on!

Arrived the other evening from a 6 hr drive and turned off the lights but they stayed on even with the switch off. Turned off the disconnect switch and waited a few minutes and turned it back on and the lights were off. They would then turn on and off. Ok what's the issue?

RE: How few miles

120 miles - half the fun for me is the driving! If I'm going to take the rig out I'm driving at least a few hours.
