RE: What's the difference in a "Camp" or a "Park"?

The name means nothing...I was once in a "RESORT" ,the name sounds promising by reality really sucked.
So don't look at the bottle look what is in it.

RE: I going to buy a new 5th wheel!

It would help if you would elaborate on your RV life style and what parts on the US you are planning to RV.
After taking these 2 factors in consideration it will narrow down the many options and help to chose the right 5W and the right floor plan for you.
Some questions to answer:
Long trips/short trips/full time/part time.
Cold weather/warm weather.
How many to accommodate.

RE: Buying the new tow rigg

Any of the big 3 3/4 tons diesels will do the job, but I would go for 1 ton SRW because of the better brakes and the extra spring , the price is not much higher.

RE: 5th wheel ?

Go for 4 season 5W , they are a bit more expensive but you will have the protection from the cold weather that is a must if you plan to live in it full time.
There are several manufacturers that have 4 season 5W like Arctic Fox,Montana and others, pick the one that fits your RV life style.

RE: Rving Vs. TSA

I agree with you totally.
I worked many years in the Airline business and have ticket benefits but always prefer to RV from A to B,enjoy the trip than go through Airport hustle.

RE: Would getting a long bed truck be a bad idea for the FW?

I can see benefits having a long bed:
No danger hitting the truck during sharp turns.
More space for stuff.
You will have a longer total length of the rig that will effect you when taking a ferry or camping on a short spot.

RE: Why we do this!!

Hi Ron,
You are so right, it is a great life style most of us have the same "disc" in the head-how to enjoy every minute that is left for us.
You meet great people sometimes only once and go on,you can change your "back yard" when ever you like to and you can choose what you want to do NOW...
Can not beat this.

RE: Going to Alaska, any tips for preventative maintenance?

I have spent 2 months in Alaska during the summer and took every road possible,it was fun and I sure want to do it again.
The only damage I had through the whole trip was a chip on the windshield which I fixed on the spot to prevent future damage.
I suggest you protect the headlamps and take the gravel roads on weekends when the truck traffic is low.
Other than that enjoy and take your time.

It's too cold here in the Lower Keys.
You'll use up all your propane on heat!

RE: One of my favorite places

It sure is a fantastic place , when I am asked what's your favorite it is hard to choose between Arches N.P,Tetons,Yellowstone,Bruce,Grand Canyon ,Zion,Canyon Land,Dead Horse ,Glacier/Waterton -But does it matter they are all great to visit and the important part is to SPEND TIME hiking in these outstanding parks.
