RE: Yellowstone Wildlife Spotting Scope Questions

The higher the power the higher is the "shakebility" factor, usually. I have a binocular made by Zeiss that's 20x80mm. My 20 power requires a tripod for quality viewing without shaking the image. Depends on what the distance that you want to view the wildlife from. What I do on trips is have the binocular ready to use, either from the truck or outside leaning on the bed rail. Both cause some shaking. For more intense viewing I use the tripod. Good luck.

RE: Please Help - Potty Question

As a general FYI .. we have discovered "Zep smoke eliminator" at Home Depot (or Home Dumpo as DW calls it being an ex-employee :B). Works great!! Rather than substituting one odor with a cover-up odor, it seems to eliminate all odors that we found so far.

RE: Boston for July 4th, Possible?

As a native Bostonian .. been there/done that! After yuou have your site all set up... Get to the Charles River Esplanade as early as possible. I'll be on my friend's 42-foot Trawler tied up at the Charlesgate Yacht club across the river. Thousands go to the Hatch Shell the night before and set up in sleeping bags and small backpack tents on the grass to be closer to where the Boston Pops play. Be mindful to where the Howitzers (cannons) are placed so you won't be unduly surprised! When they cannons roar you will find out where our city birds roost as thousands of them suddenly explode from every tree for 1/4 mile!! :B You will LOVE the once-in-a-lifetime experience though. Enjoy..

RE: Trouble with slideout

I had a similar problem where the slideout would jam up shortly after starting its outward slide. The prep dealer had not properly greased the gear assembly. He had to put axle grease (or some such) BY HAND along each slide assembly. Worked great after that.

RE: Favorite spots in Northeast?

Gotta Love NH. We've vacationed there many tmes. When younger I used to do mountain climbing and backpacking in the White mountaine. Drive up the Auto Road to the summit of Mt. Washington. It's a thrilling drive. Check the weather first for that day because clouds will obscure the views if they're forecast. However, clouds usually sink to lower altitudes as the day wears on. The Lakes Region - - - try the great drive around Lake Winnepasaukee -beautiful. Many excellent state parks around as ther White Mountain area is a national orest area. Enjoy.

RE: How to "hopefully" fix a cell phone that fell in water

Since a probable majority of wet cell phpne users do not have a box of rice readily available -- I've used a can Dust Off air spray that I always have for general use to get a powerful spray of air into and all around the phone, or keyboards or remote controls. Then a minute with the hair dryer (not too close). Works great.

RE: Family cabin style tent recommendations please

I've always managed to fit my Eureka! 10 1/2 by 20' Condo tent into state parks. It has a FULL fly so you have two tent walls.

RE: Ga.to Mystic Conn. Places not to miss

Greetings, In the Mystic area... I'd stay at the Rocky Neck State Park campground, beautifully maintained park. The ocean beach is about a 1/4 mile walk through a nature trail. Or, you can drive there if you choose. I stayed there 4 times for one-two weeks at a time. Visit the US Navy Submarine Base at Groton. Visit Mystic seaport Whaling Village with authentic ships and shops, etc. Foxwoods Resort Casino is about a 25 minute drive from Mystic as I recall. Visit Mystic Pizza for lunch. Remember the movie?? Regards, Ray and Ginger

RE: Must see places I-40 and I-95 this summer

Greetings, *We're from Boston ourselves. On your way up here I'd suggest stopping at Rocky Neck State Park in Lyme, CT. Very grassy and open with exotic sculpted trees and shrubs. Clean well-maintained facilities about 1/4 mile nature hike from beach. Or you can drive to it. *Besides some quaint local attractions you can visit the US Navy Submarine base at Groton and the Mystic Seaport Whaling Village at Mystic. *Foxwoods Resort Casino (the biggest casino in the world by the way) has attractions for kids also and good overpriced restaurants,,,it's a Resort! Mohegan Sun Casino is about 1,200 feet away from Foxwoods. When in Boston, plan for a few days and bring comfortable shoes! It's not a town to drive in but is very walkable. Stroll down Charles Street for an off-the-beaten-track experience and bring your credit cards! Try the Amphibious Duck Tours thru the city and into the Charles River. And a day strolling thru the Boston Common and the Public Gardens, bring peanuts to feed the squirrels by hand and the ducks and swans. To top it off spend a day strolling along the waterfront from the main post Office at South Station to the Long Wharf and Columbus Park. Regards, Ray and Ginger :)

RE: Lovely Problem - Black Tank Drain Blocked - Draino??

An alternative to Drano is a liter bottle of Coke. Drano produces sizzling bubbles - and so does Coke! And it won't hurt your system :W
