RE: Adding digital thermostat?

Paul, I don't know what it has yet. I will try to take it off the wall this weekend.

RE: Adding digital thermostat?

A couple pages back I asked if I could use a digital thermostat with a suburban heat only system. I never saw a response. Does anyone know?

RE: Short term workamping

I would like to find something like that too. My wife and I both teach. I just need to start asking when I stay places.

RE: How long will it take to charge my battery?

Lots of good info. I took my boats new group 27 with me. I also took my power pro 3500. I got to the camp site about 4:00 on Sunday afternoon. The sun didn't shine until lunch time on Monday, so we had to run the lights. The temps where in the upper 60's during the day and mid 40's at night. We ran the gen for about an hour so I could watch the nightly news. Then in the morning it would run for about 30 mins so we could use the microwave to warm up left overs. Last night there were no other campers in the campground so we ran the gen for about 3 hours to get a full charge. I think as long as I don't go camping when it is real cold I should be fine with my single battery.

RE: Please pray for DW

Thank you to everyone that has been praying. Her fever is over for now. She still feels really sick. I am going to get my 3yr old ready for trick or treating. Hopefully she will feel better when we return tonight. Jeff

Please pray for DW

Wife is around 6 weeks pregnant and is showing signs of the flu. Went to the doctor today and the flu test was negative but she is still running a low temp with tylanol. Just keep her in your prayers tonight.

RE: How long will it take to charge my battery?

Thanks for all the advice. I went out to my boat this afternoon and found out that I have a new group 27 deep cycle battery in it. Would it help to hook both the 24 and 27 batteries together? How much longer would it take to charge two of them instead of just one?

RE: How long will it take to charge my battery?

I think that it is a group 24.

How long will it take to charge my battery?

Next weekend we are going to a campground without hook-ups. I have one 12volt battery. I will be taken my 3500 generator. I don't want to run it anymore than I need to but I want to get a full charge before night. If the battery is in its worse condition, how long should it take to charge. I have a WFCO converter.

RE: Hydramatic tranny service

I was a gm tech for 10 years and I still build transmissions all the time. The 4l80e and 4l85e trans are not made by Allison. The common problem for these transmissions is overheating. Most of the vehicles that got these trans were big trucks and motorhomes. I would check the fluid level often and smell the fluid. If the fluid doesn't smell burnt, I would wait to change about every 30,000 miles. I would make sure that trans cooler that is right behind the grill is clean and make sure you don't pack stuff on the front of vehicle as this will reduce cooling. I wouldn't change the filter inside pan. I would take it to someone with a trans flush machine. They will be able change all the fluid in trans instead of just getting the 5qts out of the pan. The total is almost 15qts.

RE: Adding digital thermostat?

Does anyone know if I can get one to work with a heat only system? It is a suburban heater.

RE: Removing top Hose on 454

You should be able to find a cheaper version of this at a local parts store. I have one and it works really good for tight spaces. http://www.tooltopia.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=5880&utm_source=shopzilla&utm_medium=cse&utm_term=SKT90245&utm_campaign=shopzilla_r1

RE: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.

I will try to get a picture of it tomorrow. It doesn't look like the 3500. I has something simalr to the AVR but then it has a huge heat sink mounted above it.

RE: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.

Anyone think they would like to help diag a titan 8000 gen. It quit putting out power. I took the cover off to look at since it looks like a oversized 3k gen but it is different.

RE: Very frustrated about motorhome not running

I think that it could be a ignition module. I think that was what it was called. My dad had a early 80's ford truck that acted the same way. Here is a link to one at advance auto parts. Easy and cheap check. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_Ignition-Module-Control-Unit-BWD_5240484-P_194_R%7CGRPTUNEAMS_554129911___

RE: hot water winter boondockin'

I have camped several times in the teens. Something that works good for us is to keep the water tank full and use it instead of city water connection. We had problems with the water freezing in the hose, when we started using the tank (no freezing) and the water didn't have to work as hard. I think that would save you some.

Range Vent

I am trying to install my new range vent cover. I got sealing tape for it and when I removed the old one there was also caulk on it. Do I need both? What is the best way to remove the old caulk from the aluminum siding? Jeff

RE: Trailers with bunkbeds - Salem LE27RB

I own a 07 Salem Le27RB and I love it. A slide would be nice but it was the right price and weight.
