RE: Propane Tank Problem?

You said a guy with a truck? He's probably used to filling large residential and industrial tanks of 100 to 400 gallons and they do have a much faster fill rate.

RE: Including value of site

I guess every company in the USA will have to stop providing Employee Benefits. If anything of value that is provided to an emplyee is considered a "TRADE" then business taxes are going to get very complicated.

RE: 50 amp to 120 volt adapter

More properly stated as "50amp to 20amp" connector.
I find that having "50amp to 30amp" and "30amp to 20amp" cords allows me to cover whatever I've needed so far.

RE: Back up camera

If you had a spare of either item you could plug in to see which was bad. Video is hard to check without test equipment. Without video test equipment I would check at each end to see that power was getting to each unit and I would also check for continuity of all conductors from end to end.

RE: workamping?

There are some online jobs that are for real but most require a background in whatever the task might be, like technical writing. Perhaps a better thought would be traveling jobs? There are some traveling jobs that folks choose to do but none will make you rich. Selling various things to campgrounds or at fairs and such works for some. Some folks write travel articles and sell them and some do photography and sell those at flea markets and fairs. There are more than a few RV's showing up at flea markets here selling whatever they can stuff in their storage spaces BUT they all look pretty poor to me....

RE: Leave Frig plugged in or not?

Personally I open the doors and let it sit turned off. Since it works by generating heat, either via electric element or gas flame, I don't want to chance a fire.

RE: Can you use the leveling jacks for tire removal?

My '96 Winny Brave stood on it's HWH jacks for almost 2 whole days when the tire dealer all of a sudden realized they didn't have the sqeezer ring for 12 ply 19 1/2" tires so they couldn't put the new tires on my NOW EMPTY rims..............ticked me off But the Brave didn't mind.

RE: GSA 1000

Read both items. The negativity does not seem deserved for this new endeavor of an old company.
The BBB article says New Company therefor no rating other than B+
The posts on the forum address not so much this company but IF a person should use this type of service.
From a workamper standpoint this is just another 1099 "pay your own way" contract job that would be good for folks in a very narrow situation but not profitable for the majority of people.
As a certified SCORE Councelor I can tell you SCORE advises but does not do! These people have you provide data and then they do the forms. Here again may or may not be what a specific individual needs for their business........

RE: GSA 1000

From my research it's a legit job But it is a 1099 contract job and you pay ALL your own expenses from the amount they give you for the job. School pays $50/day (single or couple) and each job pays an amount set when you take the assignment. Looks like you could do a couple hundred a day IF you could get jobs close together that wouldn't be too bad. The work is complex, tedious keyboard and phone work at a client site. Caveat to me is the travel and living expenses will eat up the income so it'll pretty much be a break-even or slight loss in the end. Old company with a whole new endeavor so things will get better, or worse.......Time will tell

Is this the same problem that Workhorse is setting up to do a Recall on? I think that just applies to front calipers and is due any day now?

RE: career professional workcamping - anyone do it?

There are some "Motorcoach Resorts" out there that won't allow anything!!!! except big class A motorcoaches and some that won't allow anything older than 10 years but that's about it. You're fine for at least 96% of all RV places.
I've used my RV as a mobile photography studio/office a few times for real estate work but as far as marketing your services is concerned that's pretty much one of two things. If you're looking to work at RV parks then it's assumed you're in an rv or in any other type work the subject just doesn't come up. I know pipeline workers that rv and the workers in the same crew stay in motels - no difference.
I'm temporarily doing security at a nuke plant and many of the traveling contract workers at the plant stay in 5th wheels but most in motels and some in rental houses, so same thing - where you stay is just not germaine to the job.

RE: Iternet Explorer problem

In my wifes case she picked up a trojan loader program that intercepted the path for IE. Once that program was gone the link led to nowhere so IE7 OR 8 would not work nor would FireFox. You can't delete IE and reinstall so after trying everything I finally had to save all of her files, favorites and emails and Restore the system back to new. Other than the 43 updates to Windows and reinstalling MS Office it wasn't toooooooooooooo bad a task.....

RE: Kwikee electric step

Mine has a standard security system type 2 part magnetic switch. It's just double sided taped onto the screen door and works fine. Get a new switch from Home Depot and replace - they are cheap.

RE: Newbie question about levellers

For me there are three (3) needs for levelers (manual or auto).
First is the obvious to level the coach, second is to stop the movement that the four of us would cause and lastly for maintenance of the rv. For maintenance I've jacked it up to have the tires changed and also jacked it up to be able to get under for various maintenance chores. Our old 26 footer was jacked up behind a tire store for 30 hours once when they didn't have the "band" to squeeze the tire to be able to air them up.

RE: Slide-out not working

In our RV's recent history the clicking has always been low battery power. A throw rug inside the RV did get caught in there once but there was no clicking, just stuck.
I would get a wrench and manually try to move the slide, that may tell you if the mechanism has a problem.

Thanks for the input.
TEO - I've used Riley's before for ONAN work with other RV's and they are good. I'll try your idea IF I can get to the top of the genset. Mine does not slide out...............

Using this forum and workamper.com and caretaker.com there should be no problem getting people for your job AND also researching what others have offered in compensation and asked for in references.

RE: Amazon - Fernley, NV

$350/month for RV site ??????
If I do a conventional workcamp and work 25 hrs/week for my site - that would be 25hrs * $7.50 = $187.50/week and for 4 weeks that would be $750/month for my site.
$750 minus $350 = $400. I'm ahead all ready...........
Sounds like the Amazon gig is a keeper.
