RE: Toy Hauler w/ 2 bathrooms???

If you are looking at used models, look at the Alpenlite Defender. Very nice units.

RE: I'm back (well sort of)

Sorry to hear about your injury. I had a spill on my quad last year at Test Hill at Gordons that bought me 6 screws and 2 plates in my right arm and took me out for the rest of last riding season. I had a good doc that put my arm back together but it wasn't a fun process. My accident sounds like was nothing compared to yours though. Glad you are OK and hope you make a full recovery.

RE: Futon Matress has to go!!! Replacement Options

This is the topper we have. Four pound density, four inches thick. Much better than the stock mattress.

RE: 2006 Raptor 3612

Are there any significant upgrades on it that cost over $1K to do like 16" wheels & XPS Ribs or solar panels? Or is it bone stock?
These units new sold frequently in the mid/upper $30K and low $40K range. Nadaguide lists the following current pricing:
Low Retail = $26,160
Avg Retail = $31,520
Orig List = $51,384
I'd guess in today's market you'd be looking at around low retail depending on condition. Could be lower if the unit isn't in good condition.

RE: Another plumbing parts satellite dish mount

That dish mount looks a lot like mine but I used the 90s for the feet instead.

RE: Lifted truck and 5th wheel

See profile for rig. Three years with this 6" lifted truck setup.
Tows fine but went through three carrier bearings due to driveshaft angle. Also have some minor pinched bed rails on a steep driveway entrance. I have 7 inches of clearance.
No regrets.

RE: Power converter failrure symptoms????

When my similar WFCO bought the farm last year, the symptoms were intermittent. My dealer called me to tell me that my converter had failed while it was in his shop and he could have one replaced for me for $400 plus labor. I told him no and took the rig home as I wanted to look at it myself. The trailer was 2 years old. At home I plugged into shore power and got the batteries charged. At that point I thought the dealer was wrong and everything worked fine for a few days. Then problems started: even when plugged into shore power, sometimes the 12v lights would go dim. Sometimes the converter would charge the batteries and sometimes it wouldn't. Also the fan was making noise like it had bad bearings in it. While out camping I had to use a battery charger to make it through a weekend.
When I returned from that that trip I ordered a Xantrex online for half of what the dealer wanted and installed it myself. All has been fine since.

RE: Has anybody else had this problem?

We put Stabil in the fuel station whenever we fill it. That way it ends up in all of the toys and in the genny since they share the same tank.

RE: RZR crossways in Raptor?

How wide is the Can Am?
One thing to think about is whether you can get them in side-by-side. If you pull the wheels off the RZR and drop the frame down onto piano dollies, you might be able to skinny the RZR down to under 55". If you push the RZR over into a corner you might be able to ride the Can-Am in next to it. This will add 15 min to setup and takedown if you use a cordless impact wrench.

RE: Best USA Made 12 Volt Batteries

Large Majority of RV'ers? I myself have yet to meet anyone using 6 volt batteries in their RV's. Probably a reason for this. You do what you want, I will do what I know works better for me.
It seems the reason might be that you live in North Dakota. In the Southwest where boondocking in the deserts during the winter is common and batteries get very heavy use, many use 6v batteries. There are several RV dealers here that offer 6v batteries as a dealer installed option.

Thx for the info.
Hopefully more folks on this board will support organizations like CORVA, the Blue Ribbon Coalition, and other organizations to keep access to riding areas open.

Nice car. You'll have fun with it at Buttercup. The comp hill there is possibly the most fun in the entire ISDRA.

RE: which one do i get

If you have a buggy or UTV + other toys in your future you sould consider the WW. The 12' enclosed garage on the Victory Lane will limit what you can carry. You will have more garage space in the WW.

RE: Silver Strand RV Camping

I've driven through Silver Strand but never camped there and don't think I ever will. To each, his own, but as others have said, it's a parking lot, not really a typical campground. I'd much rather be in San Elijo. I've camped there and will camp there again.

RE: Seeking opinions on Cross Roads, Cross Terrain toy hauler

The CT has three 5,000 axles on it and tires rated at 2560 lbs each (if I recall correctly). The GVWR is 15,500 and some portion of the weight is on the pin (around 20%) so the axles & tires are rated for more than should be loaded on them. If your unit scales at around 11,000 lbs dry (which I'm guessing is close based on my CAT scale visits) then you should have around 4,500 lbs of load capacity before exceeding GVWR of the trailer. This includes water, food, clothing, etc. as well as toys.
With that said, I wouldn't worry so much about the rating of the tire as the brand. Do a search on google and on this forum and you will see plenty of negativity about Mission tires.
Also, we have camped in the trailer down to around 15 degrees or so at night at Mammoth Lakes, CA with no problems. The trailer doesn't have "heated tanks" per se, but it does have a sealed underbelly and the heater blows on the tanks. If you want to go to much lower temps or if it doesnt get above freezing often then I'd consider getting "real" tank heaters, which are more like heating pads affixed to the tanks.
Also I've heard of some folks bringing in the slides at night to reduce what is being heated and sealing the trailer up tighter.

RE: Seeking opinions on Cross Roads, Cross Terrain toy hauler

I own a CrossTerrain with the 12 foot garage and am very happy with it so far. See profile for rig.
The build quality is good... minor issues as to be expected but nothing major. I replaced the Mission tires due to sidewall cracking at the 2 year mark with Maxxis M8008 E rated tires. If the trailer you are looking at has the original tires I'd seriously consider replacing them also.
Livability is also good. There is ample storage and the insulation works well... has kept us warm down into the teens when skiing Mammoth. I'd consider going to two 6v batteries to replace the single 12v so the battery bank can make it through the night. Also consider a mattress topper to make the master bed more comfortable.

My 50 amp WFCO lasted about 2 years. When it broke we went to an Xantrex XADC-40 from Best Converter. So far so good.

RE: Graphics on Toy hauler

Remove them with a heat gun and replace them with new RV decals..
Then cover with UV protector.
Any idea what a ballpark price range is on these?
