RE: B & W Hitch

I have spray in bed liner, but the lock nuts did get stuck. Used a long breaker bar to get them off. Called B&W and they sent me a new set of lock nuts and u-bolts. Torque top bolt to 40 ft lbs, and u-bolts to 80 ft lbs.

RE: Towing 5th wheel Big Horn

I have a 08 BH 3670, and pull with a F350. I weighed it on the way home and had a pin wt just under 2,000 lbs before anything was in the rig. Once the second ac and all the stuff a family of four requires (wife and two teenage daughters) I was pushing upwards to 3,300 lbs. As you can see it is easy for the weight to add up, and exceed a 2500 real quick. Get the DRW and stay safe.

RE: 2008 F350 Dually - Best Tires?

I am also in the market for tires. I've been looking at Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor, and Michelin LTX MS2. Either tire should be better than the BFG that came standard on my truck. I am leaning more towards the SilentArmor.

RE: Bighorn 5th wheel by Heartland

Sorry to hear about your problems, and hope you can start enjoying your unit.
My 2008 BigHorn purchased in 2007 was not perfect, but my problems were taken care of under warrenty. Routine maintenance is key. After every trip I spend half a day going over my unit because the roads arent friendly, and things loosen over time.

RE: Thanks again all in regards to our Sundance

Sorry to hear about your problem. What has your dealer done to satisfy your problem? Did he make an effort to contact Heartland while your unit was under warranty, and give details of the defect? If not, you should hold him just as responsible for not taking care of you the customer.

RE: Is a GMC 3500 enough for a 18,500# Teton

I don't think you will have enough truck for that fifth wheel.

I have a 2008 BH and have had minor adjustments made to it. Check out the Heartland forum and see if someone there is having similar problems.

RE: Towing a BIG HORN 3670RL

I have a 3670RL and tow with a F350 DRW. Once you add the extras like a generator and 2nd air conditioner (if you decide to) the pin weight is going to increase and may exceed your RAW. I wouldnt tow this rig for an extended period of time with a SRW.

RE: Conditioning fifth wheel roof

I don't cover mine, but I clean and treat the roof four times a year. It wont hurt to treat and then store for the winter.

RE: Pulling Heavy 5W Without Duallys

I might be off here, but adding leaf springs and modifying the rear wheels doesn't change the fact he will be over weight for a 2500 or 3500 srw. Also, think about stopping with the extra weight. If it was me I would get the new truck.

RE: Anyone out there using this generator combo?

I tried using them in parallel with my unit and they didn't work for me. They struggled to keep the ceiling fan and one a/c unit running on a hot summer day. If the microwave was needed the a/c had to be shut down. After two trips and not being comfortable, I had an Onan installed which is pretty fuel efficient. Plenty of power to run both a/c units and microwave at once.

RE: 2011 Ford Superduty

You have to give Ford a lot of credit for bringing this engine to market. An in house developed engine that will have FORD written all over it under the hood is a big leap forward. They will have no one to point fingers at if it doesn’t perform as advertised, but I think it will be a home run. When Ford increases it's market share the others (GM, Dodge) will be playing catch up, and still outsourcing their diesel engine programs to Isuzu and Cummins because they don’t have the funding to do it themselves.
If I was in the market I would get a new 6.7L Super Duty, but my 6.4L only has 31K on it and has been flawless towing throughout the two years I've owned it. Plus my wife won’t let me.
