RE: High capacity fuel tank for F350?

I need a high capacity fuel tank--one that DOESN'T go in the bed. I still have my camper. Figured I'd post here rather than the Toyhauler board. Their solution is to just stick one in the bed. Can't do that since I need the bed for my TC too. Taking it out on New Years as a matter of fact! I've only found one so far here. It's $900 and only 57 gallons. I have the Titan in my 2007 Ram,, I did have a issue with it,, installers could not resolve,, I emailed Titan direct, they responded with in 1/2 hour so, they were very upset that I had a issue at all , let alone one not resolved. The fix that THEY INSISTED ON,, is they sent a whole new tank to my installers and it was installed at no cost to me at all. Some will say that is the way it should be ,, and I agree, but my tank was just about 3 years old and they still replaced 100% free and NO bs I highly recommend Titan, not just for thier product but for the truly top notch customer support,, just the same as the Fantastic Fan people, they stand behind their product Ralph

RE: Converter swap ??

Hey Froghunter, glad to see that you liked the pd line up also dmax lover, yes best converter is actually the company that I will be dealing with when I do it as they have spent time with me through emails and they are the ones that did recommend the pd 4645 to me, but glad to hear that they have great customer service and that it was a fairly easy mod. Thanks Ralph

We have for 6-volts ( switched ) ( Thanks Harvwong for the tips on where to place the additional two 6 - volts) We can carry one of our Honda's with us for extended boon docking trips to keep them charged. We have both the 1000 and 2000 Honda's ,, Let's see what you think Thanks Ralph

RE: DICOR Questions

Well, we are getting there,, almost done, I did take off the two vents for the holding tanks and cleaned up all the old caulk and then painted them vents with Krylon,, they look great now. BUT and you knew there was a BUT,, what do I use under these vents PRIOR to installing the eternabond over the top of the screws and on the edges ? What was there was pliable and grey in color.. I have dicor ,, but I do not think that is what was there. One of these vents is real close to the outer edge of the roof and requires some form of caulk under it for sure,, the other is in almost flat area. Thanks for suggesting the eternabond, real slick and real easy to work with ,, in fact the DW has done it all by herself,, she is a keeper!! Ralph

RE: After Market Diesel Tank ---- Duramax

YES,, I used a titan tank in my 2007 Ram https://www.titanfueltanks.com/default.htm Bad,, I had problems with it from day one,, leaking,, I had the installers re and re it about 4 times over the last three years ( got truck in Oct 06) last time about two months ago,, it leaked again,,, I was very very upset,, so much so I was going to pull it out and replace it with the stock one.. THE GOOD Then I thought ,, I might as well email the manufacturer about my problems,, so I did I included who installed and and when I got the tank... With in 15 minutes I had a response, and then with in an hour a telephone call, They were so upset that I had to put up with any grief from their tank,, they were also very upset that I did not contact them sooner with my problem. Just last week, a brand spanking new tank arrived here and was installed ,, all my problems fixed,, and all at NO COST TO ME ( just shipping )!!!! So TITAN TANKS are my only choice for larger capacity,, https://www.titanfueltanks.com/default.htm Ralph

RE: Fan-Tastic vent fan owners, Must read.

In our 2006 Big Foot there is two Fantastic fans,, the one over the bedroom just stopped working, I traced the problem to the three way switch. I called Fantastic Fan, and informed them of my issues, they asked for my address and said,, a new switch is on the way sir... I was shocked at that,, we are in Ontario, just north of Toronto, it took all of 5 business days it it arrived here yesterday and it was installed and the fan up and running with 10 minutes of UPS dropping it off. Thanks Fantastic fan for standing behind you product 100% and going over and above on customer service including free delivery!!!! Ralph

RE: Looking under the vinyl trim on a Bigfoot

That is a good thought,, as I will be replacing the steel screws that they installed at the ends and where the pieces join, I am getting my Home Depot/Lowes list together before heading over ,, so I will only do 4 or 5 trips back because I forgot some thing Ralph

Paint a frdige ( plastic ) vent cover

DW, says we should paint the white plastic fridge vent cover,,, I found this stuff ,http://www.krylon.com/products/fusion_for_plastic. Has any painted there and if so what luck did you have with it ? Ours is just a little spotted and stained,, but is the ugliest thing on the Big Foot Thanks Ralph

RE: Looking under the vinyl trim on a Bigfoot

I replaced the vinyl strip on one side of mine, driver side. The vinyl trim is a bit discolored due to age. I saw some rusty screws and some screws with no rust. I pulled a couple of screws, and saw nothing abnormal. I saw no indication of a lack of drains for water, and unless you some how sealed the strip, and I see no reason to do so, could see no way it could trap water. I saw no reason to change the steel screws to stainless. My Bigfoot is over twenty years old (1988), and has never been under a cover. Wayne That is good to know thanks Wayne we have ours inside our heated shop right now doing eternabond and dicor work on the roof vents,, and I was hoping that there was not much more to do,,and you made me decide to NOT look under that trim on ours,, just have to wax it, add 2 more 6-volts and we will be all set Ralph

Need alternate to RV stores $$$$$

Priced out the Eternabond at a RV dealer near Toronto,, worked out to $195.00 for 4" X 37' or $5.27 per foot,, OUTRAGEOUS,, So no way I was going t pay that,, I spent some time searching online to find Home Hardware ( a Canadian hardware store chain) has it,, the two stores I went to did NOT have it,, searched a bit more on line and found a Canadian distributor that has it for $89.00 for 4" X 50' or $1.78 per foot,, so you know which way I went,, IMO if RV dealers want to stay in business they should be a little more aware of what the rv owner has for options when it comes to buying everything we need. Now to find Dicor Ralph

Thanks for the fast responses,, gotta love this forum,, marine wax it will be, I will see if I can find Meguiar's Flagship Premium Marine Wax, as they do make great product. Thanks again Ralph

RE: Does Eternabond Go Over The Roof Seams...

Over, even over the existing caulk and screws if it isn't peeling off. I am in the process of doing this myself on our BF, and your response makes me ask for a confirmation of your response,,,, we can just apply the Etenabond over he existing sealant provided it is sound ?? I am not doubting you,, just trying to confirm it, as that would make life easy for us, with about 10 things on our roof to reseal. Thanks RalphLance did not endorse eternabond but did not put it down either. They did tell me to use a heat gun to soften the old caulk and use a plastic scraper to remove the goo. IMHO I think it is a good idea to remove the old stuff to have a clean surface to apply the tape. It seems to me that the old caulk if left in place would provide a weak link in the bond as the Eternabond would be sticking to the cracked Dicor if not removed. Yes that is my thoughts on it also Ralph

RE: DICOR Questions

So now what do I do,, I think a combination of the the two suggested would be best,, straight areas for eternabond and dicor for round or other not straight/flat areas. Thanks for all the input Ralph
