RE: Opinions on BFG Commercial TA

It's beyond me why people will sacrifice more than 1200 lbs of load carrying capability just to "feel better". There are better and safer choices.
2007 Challenger Specs
FastEagle
No Sacrifice here.
The BFG's give me plenty of capacity. The trailer axles scaled at 9580 when fully loaded with more than we need.
I leave my boat anchor collection at home.

RE: Anyone Know The "Pecking Order" Of Keystone Trailers?

Keystone
go to this page and place your mouse on the TT heading and a list of TT"s in their pecking order will pop up...
They are grouped Lower$ and Mid$. Within the group, they are listed alphabetically.
You might want to click that link and then recite you ABC's, you do know them don't you? :W :p
They all use the same material just different color schemes and different lay outs. But it is good to be on top! :B :p

RE: Opinions on BFG Commercial TA

My Montana came with 235/80R16. I'm told that the TA's are only made in 235/85R16.
Our Challenger came with the same crappy ST 235/80R16's. Blew one out in March 08. Came home on new BFG 235/85/16 (including the spare).
No tire issues since.

RE: I-40 TN/NC line locals - Can you provide suggestions

Why not take I-74 from Winston Salem over to I-77, then to I-81.
Definately the way to go from our side of the state.

RE: Question for anyone who has sold RV on Craigslist

We did our payment transaction at the buyers credit union. Had a note on ours. The Credit Union sent the payoff to the lein holder and cut us a check for the balance.

RE: Best Way to Sell TT

We sold our 2 year old TT on Craig's in 07. I got a trade in value from the dealer that had the 5th wheel we wanted. I searched on line for what others were offering to sell the same model nationally. I also compared asking prices locally, new and by owner for similar models.
I set the price at what I thought was fair, reasonable, and would hopefully move it quick.
The buyers were shopping new, but decided ours was a good deal. It sold quickly and we all were happy.

RE: I--think--I--can, I--think--I--can

When loaded to camp, our Our 2005 TT - Outback Model 28BH-S Dry Weight 5260, Carrying Capacity 1740, Dry Hitch 560 put our 2004 Suburban (5.3L 3.73 Gears) with in around 50 lbs of exceeding the Rear axle limit and GVWR.
I think our wet weight was around 6000 lbs.
Handling was not an issue, but power was. Also, it could not hold highway speed without shifting more than I liked.
If the bullet ends up close to these weights, you will be changing the gears, if not the tow vehicle.

RE: Holding tank pumping

We generally get pumped out at least once during a NASCAR event. Sometimes twice. The service costs $20 - $40 depending on the track.
Grey Water will most likely be what determines when you will need a pump out. The black tank is never an issue for us.

RE: How do you load water onboard once you are parked?

We have the Portable RV Fresh Water Tank: 45 Gallon for times when we do not have enough hose.
The gravity feed from the roof of our truck is not the fastest in the world, but it works great.

Whats to look at, the price sure sounds right. If that pedal sticks just take your foot off it, take out the mat, put a shim in it, and it should be good to go. Not sure about the brake pedal yet.

RE: Gooseneck to Fifth Wheel Adapter?

Is it the B&W brand? If so, their --> Companion <-- 5th wheel hitch is what you need.

RE: sidewinder hitch

Just make sure your fiver hitch will work with the Sidewinder. For example: B & W states their Companion CANNOT be used with any type of wedge pin box.
Yep. That little nugget of info came out after I already had mine.
I bought the truck used - already had the B&W.
The 5er came with the sidewinder.
No Issues - YET

RE: sidewinder hitch

Our last 5th wheel had the regular king pin hitch on it and when we bought the trailer we have now it came with a Sidewinder from the factory. I really thought it was a waste of time since I have a LWB truck but after a few pulls with it I was wrong. I can back sharper and make tighter turns than I could with the old standard hitch. Another nice feature is I can turn it sideways once we are setup and no one runs into the hitch walking by the front of the trailer.
Mine also came from the factory wuith a Sidewinder. This is our first 5er, so I can not compare it to a traditional pin, but I like it a lot.
I turn it sideways too, but still manage to knock myself silly from time to time:S
