RE: 4 button thermostat problem

Remove the thermostat from the wall and remove the cover from the thermostat. You will see four momentary micro swithes. Using electrical contact cleaner spray anc excercise each switch. Reinstall thermostat and it work perfectly. The thermostat is held to the base plate by notches on the top and bottom. To get the thermostat off you need to lift the edge of the thermostat slightly to release the notch. The best tool to use is a dental pick with a hook on the end. Place the hook under the edge and lift the edge up. This will relase it from the base plate. Allen

RE: Car?

Consider buying a small used car when you get there, leave it in a storage lot or parking area of you RV park when you go home.

RE: advise on route from seattle south

Imake that trip every year. I5 to Sacremento. 99 to Bakersfield. 58 to Kramer Junction. 395 to I15. I15 to I10. I10 to San Antonio. I37 and 77 to South Texas. The only hills are near Lake Shasta (easy driving) and Tehacapi pass (between Bakersfield and Kramer Junction) (easy driving). Mileage from Portland to Harlingen, Texas is 2581. Nice trip and I think you would enjoy it. Allen

RE: Seattle to Texas information

We travel from Spokane to the RGV every year. Going down we go through Portland (Thanksgiving with family). I5 south to SR58 (Stockdale highway) thru Bakersfield to Kramer Junction, then 395 south to I15 at Hesperia exit 141. I15 soth to I10 at San Bernardino. I10 east to San Antonio. I35 south to Corpus Christi area. US 77 south to Harlingen. You may find winter weather going over passes from southern Oregon to California. A half day drive, I have never been in bad weather the end of November. From Redding south it is like summer. You may also find winter weather on SR58 (over Tehachapi pass) a half day drive, I never have. I drive this leg during daylight hours as some of it is two lane. One year we found some winter weather on I10 at Van Horn Texas, the freeway had been plowed and was only wet. From Portland to Harlingen is 2500 miles and most of the trip is spring/summer weather and an enjoyable trip.

RE: Propane Delivery

We have stayed 3 years in Harlingen and get park service from Lone Star Propane. Don't know the cost, but worth it to prevent packing and driving motor home to fuel station. Call them and they will come to the park. Allen

RE: Big difference in waxes?

I got protect all to use on my motorhome last year and have since used it on my pickup and car. It works great. Not pricey because you use so little during application. I will never again consider anything else. Allen

RE: Monaco" Diplomat"

I have a 36 foot 99 Diplomat that I purchased 2 years ago. This is my 3rd motor home and my 1st diesel. I always tow a Susuki Vitara. I travel at 60 to 65 and have 9.35 mpg for 15000 miles. The Diplomat drives like a dream and very comfortable to live in. We have the washer/dryer and the wife uses only the washer as tghe dryer is very, very slow. I have had only one problem and that was with the pac brake being frozen open. I have finally repaired that. You will love tghe Diplomat. Allen

RE: Awning adjustment

The fabric has probably slid in either the roller or the track on the camper body. Slide it back to its proper position and it will roll up correctly. Allen

RE: Endeaver AC circuit

I have a '99 Diplomat and the a/c compressor fuse is in the panel in the bay, front/drivers side. Remove the cover inside and all the 12 volt fuses are there, with a map on the under side of the cover. Allen

RE: problem with pacbrake

I do not have the back pressure gauge. I assume the back pressure was set correctly when the unit was installed new and the pressure would not change by rebuilding it. You could talk to Pacbrake techs about this. The hole on the back of the cylinder is the air pressure release opening. Allen

RE: problem with pacbrake

Ijust finished restoring the Pacbrake on my 5.9 Cummins. I hqave not yet driven the motorhome to double check everything but I am confident if will work. The air cylinder you speak of has the return spring inside. It should be very difficult to move that plunger by had because of the tension of the spring. I believe your air cylinder is faulty. If you search the web for Pacbreak located in washington state. Their website has tons of info available, including parts diagrams. Their customer sefrvice is terrific. Allen

RE: Purchasing RV In Texas by Non-Resident

I live in Washington and purchased a motor home and registered it in Texas. The main reason I did this was to avoid emission testing in Washington. It appears that Texas does not care where you live, if you pay the money for sales tax and registration. My insurance company does not care either. The state of Washington would like to get some money from me for the privilege of owning an RV, but if they don't know ?? Allen
