RE: Yuma

We rent a lot in the Foothills Yuma area. Brick fence all around, each lot has hookups for 2 rv's. The one we have rents for $300 including everything.....water, electric, sewer, and trash pickup.
You won't find this in the RV parks in Yuma. Very nice neighbors.
Go on Craig's list....Arizona.....Yuma....vacation rentals. Search.
Good Luck

RE: good sam emergency service

Well we have had good sam's for 6 yrs. Had blowout on the highway, Good Sam's sent out a crew..changed the tire. All I paid was for the tire. Had engine failure in Utah Good Sam's towed me back to Grand Junction Colorado. 3 weeks later had radiator problems Good Sam'as towed me all across Utah to a Cat dealer no charge. This year on the way up from Yuma was a disaster....Good Sam's came to my rescue 5 times all in one trip. 4 flatbed towes and a highway mechanic. Do I
like Good Sam's you bet I do. I was surprised I didn't get a cancellation notice this year, I really did expect one.

RE: 2nd A/C question

We have a class A...Beaver Patriot....with 2 of the Dometic Penguin low profile air-conditioners and they work great. Our Beaver is a 1997 with the original air-conditioners, clean them once a year and have had no problems. In Indiana this summer have had 8 straight days of 95+ but Moho kept at 68 all day long.

RE: Credit monitoring service

I signed up for a monitoring system about 1 year ago. Was thinking of dropping because I was not getting any negative reports and was doing nothing that would cause a negative report. All at once I got a negative report and my credit score dropped 100 points. Now I am 66 yrs old and have two credit cards we use very sparingly, and pay off every month. I called the collection agency that put the negative report in and whoooo....... they told me I was in failure to pay my child support. Well let me tell you my children are 48, 47, and 45. Child support???I raised my children. I went on line to file a correction through Experian and they said it could take 3 to 4 weeks to get the investigation taken. About two hours I received an e-mail telling me it was all taken care of and the negative report had been removed. Do I believe in monitoring my credit......you bet I do.
Free Credit Score .com even reduced my monthly payment to $7.50.

RE: Joining Good Sam or Coach-net??? opinions

I have no experience with Coach Net, but we had a terrible time getting from Yuma to Indiana this year. 43 days, 4 tows by good sam's,2 highway mechanics, and all I got was a letter advising me to check that someone else was not using my member number. I called and told them it was all mine and they said ok. I have been a member of Good Sam's for 6 ears and have no complaints.

RE: Questions about Workamping

1. How does one go about applying for Workamping?
http://www.workamper.com/optinnew/index.cfm ....this site is the best I have found to join.
Also http://www.forestcamping.com/dow/host/host.htm is good for Nation Parks.
2. How is a lack of experience treated?
We have worked for Wolf Creek Nat'l Fish Hatchery in Kentucky
Fort Davis Nat'l Historical Site in Fort Davis Texas
The lack of experience didn't seem to matter, just be friendly,
forward, and nice.
3. Any suggestions on how to get the experience?
The best way is to take on a job stay at least 2 months then go
to somewhere else. Always do a good job, be friendly, and get
with people.
4. What are the pitfalls of Workcamping?
I haven't found any pitfalls yet after 3 years. I have heard of
people not liking the job they signed up for but not us yet.
5. What are the good things about it?
Meeting different people, having different experiences, and seeing
different places and sites.
6. Any other suggestions?
If you really want a pleasant 1st time call or E-mail
Amanda Patrick at Wolf Creek Nat'l Fish Hatchery
Amanda_Patrick@fws.gov or 1-270-343-3797
and see if she has any openings. They are very nice people
and you will have a very pleasant 1st time experience.
Please tell her Don Smith told you about it. This picture is our site we had.

RE: ...on a scale of 1-10 are you happy and enjoy life...

DW and I love life, people, food, and Margaritta's.....how could it be better. There is no better way than fulltiming and meeting new friends every day. We volunteer at Nat'l Reserves every summer and get to meet all types and I can honestly say I have never met anyone I didn't like.
Hi friends hope to see you sometime down the road.

RE: Keystone Alpine or Grand Junction

We like ours but I don't think your comparing apples with apples :H
Of course I don't know much about the Alpine, maybe its just as heavy.
I assume you winter in the southern region? Grand Junction might be a bit lite on the R factor and I don't recall dual pane window option.
Other than that we have spent 6-8 weeks at a time in ours several times.
Yes we spend from October to March in Yuma, Az. The rest we are in Nat'l Reserves where we volunteer. Some summers in Kentucky, Mosourri,
Indiana, Tennessee, sometimes Texas.
Thanks for all your input.

RE: Verizon MiFi

You are all right...I hadn't even considered the address on my license. It is a mail forwarding but still should not have put it here. Thanks to the forum for deleting the picture.
I had the broadband card and it worked great but with this DW and I can both be on the internet at the same time.

I am very interested in these opinions. DW and I are looking at Grand Junction, Big Horn, or Alpine. We like all three but the Grand Junction seems to fit better.
