RE: Looking for leather punch

Beware of the cheap ones....the handle will literally bend if trying to go thru too thick material.....for light weight stuff it should last for that project. I made harness and saddle items (tack). Tandy is where I bought my supplies.

RE: Anyone RV with House Rabbits?

If DH and I were retired and fulltimers camping, I probably would have a hen or two go with us. As fulltimers for 9 years, I really would have loved to do this, but DH put the brakes on that one :E

RE: Anyone RV with House Rabbits?

We had a giant Lop that was leash trained. He loved his walks! I owned a pet store and he was the mascot and one of the stars! Also had a guinea pig leash trained and a betta who came to the side of the tank when summoned :B

RE: Ever Been Asked to Leave?

We were asked to leave a WW while waiting to get into a dealer's service shop.....we did and went across the street to an abandoned shopping center..... BTW...we spent lots of $$$$ at the WW and ate breakfast at the fast food place.....we left home at 3 am and arrived at the dealer's (where there was no parking until the gates opened at 8am)about 7 am for a 8:30 appt.

RE: And the scams go on....

I posted this in ATC a few weeks ago A bit of the history... Last month I put a piece of furniture for sale on Craigslist. I got a response immediately and it was questionable, to say the least. Being the suspicious lady I am, I decided to play along. The deal was that I remove the item from CL, (I refused), and payment would come via UPS with enuf $$$$ to cover shipping (for a $450. piece of wood ) OK....it would come within a day or so, overnighted. Nothing for a week....emailed the person...no payment. Within a few days, I recieved 3 moneygrams for a total of $2,100 Naturally, being so suspicious, I hopped on my trusty computer and did some research on the moneygrams. Found a store in Boise, and they did a conference call with the main company. Found that all three were "washed". (Meanwhile, I was keeping notes, emails, etc on everything.) Once I found that they were really and truly fraudulent, I contacted the local Sheriff Dept. They send out our good friend and "adopted son" Jason and his partner to talk to me. We all ate homemade bread and went over the case. They took everything including the FedEx envelope. Thought that would be the end of it. This morning I got a call from the Bridgeport, CT PD. A detective is working the case The stupid crook used his real name and address on the FedEx package It will be interesting to see what happens, now...... Sometime a suspicious nature "pays" off DianneOK, moderator RV.net Yes, they are out there and they work both ways :E

RE: Does anyone use the storage under queen sized bed?

Mama...ours has the lifts, as well, but once we changed the mattress to a really, really good one, I need to prop it up because it is too heavy for the lifts to keep it up. A board cut to length works well. We also stored a few sentimental retirement items for my DH there :B We have friends who installed a floor safe under the bed. Ooooppsss, forgot, my guitar with the broken bridge was stored there, as well...:(

RE: Does anyone use the storage under queen sized bed?

While fulltiming we used ours for winter clothing, extra quilts, camera gear (tripods, etc) hiking gear. Our Teton has no access to the basement, but the alfas did....terrible cold drafts in the winter :E Had to stuff it with blankets

RE: Homemade yeast rolls recipe that is easy.

Cafeteria Rolls Ingredients * 3 cups warm water * 1 tablespoon white sugar * 2/3 cup white sugar * 3 (.25 ounce) envelopes active dry yeast * 1/4 cup milk * 2 eggs * 1 tablespoon salt * 10 cups all-purpose flour * 1/4 cup shortening * 1/4 cup butter, melted Directions 1. In a large bowl, mix together the warm water and 1 tablespoon sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top, and let it stand for about 10 minutes, until the yeast is foamy. 2. Mix the milk, eggs and salt into the yeast. Measure the flour into a separate bowl, add 2/3 cup sugar, and crumble the shortening into it using your fingers until it is barely noticeable. Gradually stir the flour into the wet ingredients. Mix using a wooden spoon until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl and starts to form a ball around the spoon. Cover with a hot wet towel that has been wrung out, and set in a warm place to rise until double in bulk. This should take about 45 minutes. 3. When the dough has risen, pour the melted butter over it, and knead for about 2 minutes. Let the dough rest for a few minutes, then roll out on a lightly floured surface to 1 inch thick. Use a knife to cut into 2 inch squares. Roll squares into balls, and place into greased round pans, spacing about 1 inch apart. Let rise again until doubled in size. You could also refrigerate the dough, and let it rise overnight for baking the next day. 4. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Bake the rolls for about 12 minutes, until golden brown.

RE: Is there a real oven?

My "crappy" Amana oven is amazing :E Larger than the Wedgewoods we had, and I used it for everything, including breads, cheesecakes (commercially....tho only one at a time). Never burned anything and right on the dime temp-wise :B What is the problem with yours?

RE: winter storeage with camper plugged in, problems?

Are the tank heaters on and will they be damaged by this We had a leak in our FW tank during the summer. We emptied the tank, not realizing the tank heater was on. When we had the tank pulled we found that the heater had literally melted the bottom of the tank :E Whether this was the original cause of the leak was not determined. We were told this should not happen, but it did :E After all, the black and grey were empty at times, bit maybe not long enuf to cause damage.....
