Found this recipe many years ago in either Woman's Day or Family Circle magazine.
Church Stained Glass Window Candy
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 stick butter
1 pkg. Kraft colored marshmallows

Melt chocolate chips and butter (in the microwave) or in top of double boiler. When completely melted, remove from heat and beat until cool. Add marshmallows in a folding motion. Drop on sheets of waxed paper and form into logs (should make 2-3 logs). Refrigerate until chilled. Slice before serving. Yields 50 (1/2 inch) slices.

The original recipe called for chilling the mixture until it could be formed & roll it in a log, & then roll the log in chopped toasted pecans. Chill, & slice in slices.

Last year I melted white chocolate, mixed in some crushed peppermint candy canes then poured on a waxed paper lined pan and refrigerated. It was about 1/4" thick. When it was set and totally cool, I broke into pieces and stored in a tin. White Chocolate Peppermint Bark. You could also use a milk chocolate or dark chocolate with the crushed peppermint candy canes. Its addictive.

I almost forgot this one - not really candy - not really a cookie but they're still good. You need a box of vanilla wafers, a can of vanilla frosting and a box of thin mints (like the Pearson's soft mint patty candies). Spread a dab of frosting on the flat side of a cookie, place a mint on top, the frost the flat side of another cookie and place on top. You get a little rounded cookie/candy bite. If you want, you can brush some egg white on top of one cookie and sprinkle on some sesame seed to make them look like hamburgers. These need to sit tightly covered for a day until the cookie gets soft.

This is good, quick, and keeps well.

MICROWAVE PEANUT OR PECAN BRITTLE

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup, light
1 cup peanuts, roasted, salted, shelled (Can use Dry Roasted, even easier!)
1 teaspoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda

Combine sugar and corn syrup in a 2-quart microwave-safe dish, and microwave on high for 4 minutes.

Rub skins away from peanuts (if any remain) using a clean terry towel.

Stir in roasted peanuts, and microwave on HIGH for three to five minutes, or until lightly brown. Add butter and vanilla to syrup, stirring well.

Microwave on high for 1 - 2 minutes more. Stir baking soda into mixture and mix until foamy.

Pour onto a greased cookie sheet. Allow to cool. Break into pieces when fully cooled.

1 c. white Karo

Combine in med. sauce pan. Bring to all over boil.

Stir in 12 oz.(1 1/2 c.)peanut butter(smooth or crunchy)until melted.

Add 4 - 4 1/2 c. Rice Krispies or Special K cereal. (I'm doing this from memory so can't remember exact amount!)

agteacher, isn't there some sugar needed in the No-Bake Cookies?

These two are our families favorites. The Buckeyes are always a hit with anyone that comes over.

Here is the recipe for No-Bake we use...

Ingredients

* 1 3/4 cups white sugar
* 1/2 cup milk
* 1/2 cup butter
* 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
* 1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
* 3 cups quick-cooking oats
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

My grannie used to make this - it's a holiday tradition in our family

Aunt Bill's Brown Candy

Ingredients

* 6 cups white sugar, divided
* 2 cups heavy cream
* 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/2 cup butter
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 2 pounds pecan halves or pieces

Directions

1. Butter a 9x13 inch dish and a medium, heavy saucepan.

2. In the buttered saucepan, combine 4 cups sugar and the cream. Have ready.

3. In a large heavy skillet over medium heat, pour the remaining 2 cups sugar. Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar begins to melt. Place the saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally. Continue to cook and stir the sugar in the skillet until it is completely melted and light brown. Pour the melted sugar very slowly, in a thin stream, into the lightly simmering cream, stirring constantly (This step may take five minutes, and works best if someone strong pours the melted sugar v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y.)

4. Heat now, without stirring, to 242 to 248 degrees F (116 to 120 degrees C), or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a firm but pliable ball. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda (mixture will foam). Drop the butter into the foaming mixture and let rest without stirring 30 minutes.

5. Stir in the vanilla with a wooden spoon and continue to stir vigorously until mixture loses its gloss, 10 to 15 minutes. Then fold in pecans and quickly turn candy into the prepared 9x13 inch dish. Let cool until just warm and cut in 1 inch pieces.
