The Plover population should be allowed to thrive south of the ODSVRA, there is no vehicle traffic allowed there and that stretch of coasline dwarfs the OHV area. It's similar to the Milk Fetch issue at Glamis. South of the border its everywhere.

You guys crack me up. I got in some trouble at work some time ago, we were in a meeting with some tree huggers and there was a big flap about bourghing owls in the area we were working in(there are thousands of them around, but you know tree huggers). Anyway, we were asked what we thought the best way to preserve these owls, well I imidiatly said with 7 herbs and spices. Everyone in the room thought it was halarious except my boss andthe tree huggers LOL.

Speaking of blowing sand, the BLM will be going forward with removing 2,500 mustangs in the Reno area. They intend to remove 30,000 from western range-land in the next three years. Is there anyone here who hasn't seen a wild Mustang or Burro? If you would like to see them, check with the BLM. Artical

AstroRig, nice posts. I appreciate your well thought out typed responses.

That said, the relatively tiny area of the OHVA can not have that big of an impact on the plover. What about the huge area that used to be open and now is not? Are the birds not completely undisturbed there? Can we swap areas if the birds want the OHVA?

And complaints about sand? Come on. Live at the beach or near the coast, don't complain about sand. Move near the airport, don't complain about jet noise.

I have seen the idiots who trash the place, get stupid drunk and act like clowns. I'm all for getting them out of our spaces, how can we do it?

I really think limiting the amount of people will cut down on the idiots. If the place sells out on the weekends then you have to be planful and make reservations and most of the idiots are not that way. Although I hate to say it, it might help.

We live in Idaho ... and the St. Anthony sand dunes are ONLY there because sand is deposited there by winds. Sad to say ... we've yet to visit and it's a little more than an hour from home. our bad ...

California sucks anymore, I am a native and the tree hugging liberals have devistated our state, I'm a plumber and now we have to have California only parts that will cost me 20-60 percent higher because lead free isn't good enough.
I and many are sick of it and will be voting these liberal elitists out, people and business are moving out of CA in record numbers. I was just at our DMV past 5pm and they told me they don't get overtime anymore, the state can pull that off but if I tried that with my employees the EDD would be all over me. Might as well change the name to the USSRCA.....Pelosi, Boxer and all the other knuckleheads must GO. Sell us toys and we cant ride them anywhere......I'm moving!
